Well ... this morning I went out to my car and found a note saying 'Call me' and a number tucked under my windscreen wipers.

I'm not assuming it's 'romantic' - but there's no name and it just seems ... strange. Pretty sure I haven't run over anyone's cat / pet rat / ferret recently ...

Would YOU bother calling it? Or would it be too freaky? I have no idea who it could be from. I do park pretty much the same place every night ...?

Any thoughts??

Did you Google it and see if comes up?

Or maybe do a reverse phone number search?

I don't think I would call it if it were me. Weird Notes? [Warning: 'Look at Me' Thread Inside]

Hi
I don't see what you can lose by calling the number they left. If you don't call, I think you will remain curious so, the only way to stop wondering what this could be about, is to call and hear it first hand.
I would say go for it !!

A friend suggested calling with Caller ID blocked just to see who answers.

I am curious, otherwise I'd forget it ...

I would ignore it. If it's someone with good intentions, then they should be reasonable enough to understand why you might be hesitant to put yourself at risk with such a thing.

ew - and the more I think about it, if it IS romantic, then how desperate does this person think you are, that you'd jump at some random stranger's note? If you're hot stuff and in demand, then they're going to have to work a little harder than some anonymous one-liner, right?

LOL! Forreal :>

The last one who did this sort of thing had terrible taste in flowers (spikey red and orange things) so that kinda put me off ...

I only have an exbf who I am thinking about going overseas with hanging around at the moment so maybe I should take what I can get ... or not ...

I met a hot guy at a social marketing conference the other day, I found out later he was an Olympian rep in boxing which explains the nice body. I have his card and have arranged to email him with some 'questions about his presentation' :>

not that i can be bothered with men atm but 8 hours of listening to people talk, gotta entertain yourself somehow...

Anonymous oneliners are sounding less attractive by the second :|

If I were to call it, I think I'd call from a pay phone. I think curiosity would get the better of me though, and I'd have to call it! But I wouldn't call from my own phone, even with the number blocked.....I'm too paranoid lol!

If you must call, call from a pay phone or other untraceable number, such as disposable phone.

One time, I had a weird note with photos on my car and a vaguely threatening note, but next door neighbors happened to see who put it there, and said it was someone else's confused bf -- lol. Could be a case of mistaken car identity, too.

Be careful-most people would have left a first name on the note. I'm under the impression it's someone you may already know and they were afraid if you knew it was their number you wouldn't call.
I hope it's not some wierdo stalking you. Weird Notes? [Warning: 'Look at Me' Thread Inside]

I would suggest NOT calling. The whole idea creeps me out. A decent, grown up man would NOT approach a woman like this. Who needs someone who play games? Sounds uunsafe, and uncool to me.

Maybe that's what the invitation is going to be when you call the number......
I am thinking perhaps it is someone who doesn't have the confidence to approach you outright...possibly for fear of being rejected so, maybe this person NEEDS you to respond even if only for their own sake.
Just think, you could be doing someone a huge service by just acknowledging them.....
I agree though that if you call it should be from a pay phone or untraceable number.

I'd have a friend call it :-) I wouldn't know what to say as far as my part of the conversation; presumably the person would answer the phone with "Hello?" and then what do you say?

I would just assume it was a case of mistaken identity; someone saw the car and thought it was someone else's who would recognize the number/writing or something. I tend to be as "selfish" as I can in such situations and realize it can't be about "me" if they just leave a number and command so I'm probably not going to "get" anything I want by calling, the other person is getting it all :-) I'd go for "bored"/someone else with a problem and not "get involved."

Then again, I'd think of a book/novel to write about the subject :-) Have you ever read McElligott's Pool by Dr. Seuss? It's almost more fun thinking of the possibilities than calling the number and being disappointed because it's some stranger wanting something (to buy your car or something they saw in it?) or a case of mistaken identity. Like people waving and it turns out they're waving to someone behind you :-)

Someone might have noticed someone bumping into your car with theirs (or they might have) yes, they could have left a name!

I would do what Petunia suggested: do a reverse search with the phone number. Many of the places that will google a name to find a phone number (online white pages) have where you do a reverse search and enter the phone number to find out the name.

Maybe it's someone you met and forgot about... obviously someone in a rush Weird Notes? [Warning: 'Look at Me' Thread Inside]

Let us know eh?

I would do the reverse search and also google it.. if nothing comes up call from a number htat is not attached to you in any way..

The one time I accidently hit someone I called the police as it is a state law here where I live..

Be careful.. I do not trust numbers on my car I normally thoruw them away..
