I had a chai tea today. It was delicious. I specifically inquired about caffeine and the kid who served me said there was none in it. HOWEVER, I am so angry this afternoon, I am thinking there was caffeine in the tea because I really, really can't handle caffeine AT ALL and my stomach feels fluttery. I had a huge fight with my son and my reaction was out of proportion. So, I'm wondering about chai tea? anyone?

Thanks. As my son said, "Geeze Mom, obviously it had caffeine."

"Decaffeinated tea is not caffeine free. It still contains up to .4% by dry weight caffeine content. "
"Contains caffeine in nature, can be decaffeinated (removing most of the caffeine) English Breakfast, Chai Spice, Earl Grey " http://www.stashtea.com/caffeine.htm I think like many teas it can be decaffeinated but doesnt have to be...all teas have caffeine...it really depends on the brand and the processing....maybe you could ask for a nutrinal value sheet from the store that you got it from??? Otherwise id suggest you just stay away from it all together..good luck

Chai tea is made with black tea...so yes, it has caffeine. Some are made caffeine free, but they are labeled that way.
