I'm suffering an extreme episode of what is apparently called agitated depression, and I'm just wondering how it relates to other things : anxiety, past hypo-manic episodes, depression and my BPD???? Posting here because don't know?

I'm not sure where it fits in but I sometimes suffer from it, too. It's I sometimes think of it as a mixed state, but I don't know if that is accurate. a really miserable state to be in for sure.

I think it could relate to any one of those. Just my opinion, though. I know anxiety and depression can often go hand in hand; I refer to them as "sisters."

I'm not sure how it relates to the things you listed. I guess if you have Borderline Personality Disorder and you're having an agitated depression there could be some link, same goes for the depression (it's just agitated), as for past hypo-manic episodes, are you bipolar too?
I don't really understand the difference between dysphoric mania (or dysphoric hypomania) and agitated depression when it comes to people with bipolar disorder. They both involve symptoms of depression, they both involve agitation/irritability, restlessness, poor sleep, appetite changes, behavioral changes etc. So what's the diff? I think that's the real question. Nobody in the mental health field has ever made that clear to me.
