I see in our profile we have a button that says "terminate our membership" Im wondering if I press it will we be erased. Its just that I can hardly stop myself from clicking on it but Im afraid they will delete me if i do. I want to see what happens when i click it. Anyone tried clicking it?!

It simply takes you to a page that asks you for a reason to do so. Then it sends a PM to me to take care of it manually. It does not happen automatically.

I once was mad enough to click it. I'm glad it doesn't automatically terminate your membership. I wouldn't exist here anymore.

Out of curiosity, what sort of reason is acceptable? Would becoming totally addicted to the site be good enough?

Different people have different reasons to ask that their account be deleted. One of the most serious reason is an invasion of privacy, which means someone irl found out a member's username. When it's not an emergency situation, we like to wait and give people a chance to change their minds so it's not a snap decision. Also, it's much easier for all involved if someone doesn't want to participate anymore, to just leave for a while and come back if he or she wishes. Jan

You're not a moron! Do you know how many people here have times when they just want to quit a site, group or whatever because of frustration and/or anger? I've done it...often for the best. But I'm glad you're still here!
