Don't even know where to start! Coming home from my grandson's T-ball game, Jerry and I got sandwiched in between a Nissan Sentra and a Ford pick-up while waiting for a red light to change. We felt a big thud and I cracked the back of my head on the headrest of my seat.

What happened was that the Nissan didn't make the stop and rear ended us, pushing us into the pickup. Good thing the guy in the pick up was on the ball because Jerry and I weren't!

The guy in the Nissan kept asking us all if we were okay and if we had insurance. The guy in the pickup suggested we move off the road more. The guy in the Nissan took the opportunity to jump back in his car and left the scene. The guy in the pickup had already called 911 so he called back and told the dispatcher we had a hit and run. It wasn't 20 minutes later and the cops had the guy under arrest. Actually, there were 4 guys in the Nissan.

Everybody seems alright except Jerry's car and me. Poor little Miata got scrunched from the back and the front but Jerry was able to drive it home. I've got a headache and the muscle on the right of my neck seems to be getting tighter. Hate to see how sore I'll be in the morning! YIPES!!!

The sincher is... I've never been in a car wreck before!! YIPES!!! That happened a little over two hours ago and I'm just now beginning to settle down from shaking all over and I'm sick to my stomach, probably from the adrenaline. YIPES!!! YIPES!!! I've got this feeling of having dreamt it rather than having gone through it in reality. This is so weird!!! It could have been a lot worse, I'm sure, but...

Am I being a baby?? I just wish I could erase it... as if it never happened! C'mon! It wasn't that big a deal! We all walked away from it! YIPES!!! YIPES!!!

((((((((((((((Sept))))))))))))))))))

Car wrecks are always scary, no matter how much damage or hurt is caused. You're not being a baby, it would scare the heebeejeebies out of me.

Get that neck of yours checked out if it's still bad tomorrow, please? It could get worse otherwise.

Take care, glad you're okay and sorry about your car!

((((((((((( SeptemberMorn ))))))))))))))) YIPES!!!

I'm so glad you are not too badly hurt but it is a real shock.

Heck, what a cheek that the guys in the Nissan ran off like that, good job they got caught by the police though.

Try and relax today, I should think it'll take a while to get over the shock of it all.

(((((((((((((((((((((SeptemberMorn)))))))))))))))))))))))))) I am so glad you are both all right. It was like you were in two wrecks. I am glad they got that hit and run. Car accidents are scary no matter how big or small. I am just glad you are all right. Please take care of yourself. If you start to feel bad please go get yourself checked out.

Hey I feel ya girl. I was in an accident a while back and totaled my car. I was in a hyundai accent and ran into a deer the size of a cadillac. I was not hurt but I am sorry to say the deer didn't make it. But I was shook up pretty good for about 3 days. I'd be doing fine and then I would walk outside and see the car and I would start shaking all over again. I was only about a quarter of a mile from the house and so when the police got there they followed me to make sure I made it alright and I forced it to go just that little distance so I could gett my things out of it the next day. I give props to hyundais. That deer bent the frame into the radiator and shoved the radiator into the motor, and knoked the motor lose from the motor supports. But I was still able to open my doors like nothing had happened. That little car should have been crushed like a tin can.

Any way, I hope the pain goes away and that you are not hurt too bad. Sounds to me like God was looking out for you. Later.

This is probably mean of me…but, I like it when people who do things wrong get caught by the police. Keep an eye on your neck—if it gets worse—go to a doctor! Sorry about your little Miata.

{{{{{{{{{{{Canders}}}}}}}}}}}}} Thanks for the validation, Hon! I'm not quite as trippy as I was last night but my neck and back hurt all night and my upper thighs, too. Wonder what the thighs are about. I'm just hoping that the vertebrae that are degenerating didn't get whacked out of place. YIPES!!!

Guess it's the chiropractor for me sometimes today. Jerry says he's feeling fine. No sore spots.

YIPES!!! I'm thinking that creep was saying "Eat my dust!" as he left the scene! We were on the shoulder of the road and he sure kicked up a lot of dirt and rocks as he gunned it and left! YIPES!!!

My bi-line has been for a long time "He picked the wrong woman to mess with it!!" I'm staying true to my word!

{{{{{{{{{{{{Bip}}}}}}}}}}}} I guess it WAS like we were in two accidents... only one big bang! I don't even remember moving. It was just a big CRUUUNCH and my neck was hurting. Jerry and I looked at each other like "WHAAAT????" It took the guy getting out of his pickup to bring us back to reality. So weird!!

It's gonna take me a while to get over the shock. It was days before I stopped flashing back on my dog getting hit by a car, so I can imagine what it's going to be like this time. It happened to ME! YIPES!!! LOL

Oh, my gosh!!! I ran over a puppy once that was running lose in the street! Tried everything I could to miss it except hit another car! I could feel that thud for weeks!! It was just a puppy! Can't imagine how it would feel to hit something as big as a deer! YIPES!!!

If I was you, I'd probably stick with Hyundais for the rest of my life! Sounds like a pretty good car to me! YIPES!!!

Thanks! Never having been in a car accident before, I have nothing to draw on, but with yours and everyone else's posts, I guess it wasn't any small thing, eh? It sure doesn't feel like it! LOL

I don't think you're mean! That guy isn't done paying yet! I'm gonna have my go at him, too! YIPES!!!

It was really good news when the police called the guy in the pickup and told him they had the creep under arrest! Because the pickup wasn't as mangled as our poor little car was, he was the one to go identify the driver. We were allowed to limp home. Jerry had to pull the fender away from the wheel to drive the car. Poor little car! YIPES!!!

You would know about accidents, wouldn't you? {{{{{{{{{{Be}}}}}}}}}} Our youngest gave us both a long lecture last night about what to watch for and how neck and back injuries sometimes take a while to show up. How would HE know?? YIPES!!!

Anyway, I'm gonna go have myself check out. Got enough back problems as it is! Surprising my wheel chair didn't suffer any damage 'cause Jerry had it in the trunk tied down with some of it sticking out. DARN! I coulda gotten myself a new manual chair out of this! LOL

No, no what ifs that I'm aware of, just darn thankful that it wasn't any worse! It just happened so fast that it's hard to believe it happened at all!

You know, if that jerk had stayed around, I probably would have softened. As it is, he's gonna pay and not just for not stopping! He'll think twice before getting into a car while intoxicated and then LEAVING the scene!

I think the Tough Old Broad Society will rise again! LOL
