I just got back from 3 draining hours in court covering a sentencing that involved someone I worked with (she was hit head on by a drunk driver and is permanently disabled) and found this in my mailbox from a website called SecretMessage.com. It said that someone chose to send me a message anonymously. This is what the message said:

Someone wants to bring to your attention the following traits / issues:
Complaining, Pessimistic, Grumpy

Please give the above your consideration.

The sender chose not to leave a return address.

I find this weaselly, cowardly behavior. Obviously I have no idea where it came from.

GROWL

CB

PS: And so what's it to you if I'm complaining, pessimistic and grumpy? I have reason to be. I'm just sayin' ...

That is horrible!! What a cowardly, cruel thing to do. I'm just sayin' ... AUUGH, I HATE it when people do stupid, thoughtless things like that. >

I hope you don't take this too seriously--this person obvioulsy has insecurities of their own, or is just plain malicious and doesn't get what you're going through. XP

luck& love,

Hi Candybear,

That was a very cowardly thing to send to you anonymously. I'm sorry you were sent that. (((((Candybear)))))))

I've heard of sites and services like that. I think it's cowardly, too. If someone has a problem with me, I'm going to respect them more if they take me aside privately and ask why I am the way I am, or better yet--"What's wrong?" Just like I'd prefer someone privately let me know there's spinach on my teeth, my breath is bad, etc., rather than send an anonymous note.

The point to my original post is exactly what Maven said -- if someone has a problem with me, please bring it to me directly.

Thanks for the support. I'm just sayin' ...

Wow ... I just heard something even worse.

A friend I told about this replied that she has gotten similar emails saying that people at work are talking behind her back about her weight! And it is sent anonymously. She didn't say if it came from the same site.

CJ is a big girl and so am I and I have issues with it. People have objected to my personality my whole life, but I would have major, major problems with someone who did that to me about my appearance!!!! It's a lot easier to say "it is what it is, like it or lump it" about one's personality.

I'm just sayin' ... I'm just sayin' ... I'm just sayin' ...

I'm just sayin' ...

Anytime someone is mean to me, I try to think about why they'd do that. I know for me in the past, when I was mean to people (and boy was I a mean woman years ago) it was because I found something lacking in myself. It boosted my self-esteem to put down another. Maybe thats the case with these people sending these emails. They get a rush out of being mean to someone because they're so down on themselves.

I wish I could post that bumper sticker here, "Mean People Suck".

As a reformed "mean girl" I hate to see this stuff. It takes a lot of energy to mean, and its very draining. So much easier to be nice. I'm just sayin' ...

((((((((( Candy & Friend )))))))))))

I am so very sorry this horrible thing happened to both of you. I don't understand how people can be so cruel and cowardly.

Healing hugs,

Jan
