I agree with the circles, but I find the number of people sticking up for Scott in any respect here in relation to the number of people he helped is a bit pitiful.

Shrug. Guess Google's free for psyc info.

i think that people might have expressed their appreciation at the time (e.g., when he offered his advice) and they might not see very many benefits to expressing it here. 'Sticking up for Scott' kind of makes the situation out to be Scott against admin or against certain posters or something like that. often people avoid those kinds of situations. that doesn't mean that they don't appreciate the people involved, however, its just that they want to refrain from a situation where it appears they have to choose which side to be on. it is possible to appreciate someone and support them without attempting to stick up for them. it is possible...

i suppose that with regards to the disrespect we are back to the circle again...
who showed disrespect first???

as gg likes to say 'the wheels on the bus go round and round'.

dammit, i wish i was better at this. i can't for the life of me work out what a better ending would look like...

It is possible, yes you're right.

And I probably shouldn't have phrased it like that.

My point is a few more 'psisci was so helpful' comments wouldn't have gone astray, in a thread that is mostly criticising his approach here.

I think his heart was in the right place and hell I am so appreciative of the advice and help I received ...

I dunno, I just think people are so quick to jump on someone ... they remember the bad bits a lot more saliently than the good bits it seems ...

It's like if you have a good customer service experience ... you tell four people ... who don't tell more than another one or two people.

If you have a bad customer service experience ... you tell nine people .. who each tell another couple ...

the saliency of anything negative pushes out the memories of positive things too ... sometimes ...

Thanks everyone for your comments, concerns and well wishes for Scott.

I'll be closing this thread now and ask that another not be created.
