Does anyone else do this?

I would say that from the 365 days we have in a year, 340 nights are spend in front of the tv.

It just became a habit, even when nothing interesting is on I still watch.

I think there are much worse habits than watching TV. I've been trying to watch more TV because it helps me to relax...reduces my anxiety.
Thanks for this!

I thought everyone watches tv in the evening before bed...? At least that's what we did growing up, and what I do now with my husband usually.

I've had fairly long periods in my life with no TV. You discover other things to do. It is nice to not have commercials.

Books. Music. I mean, you can really go to town on music. All the classics...

I would say if you think what most people do is normal, watching TV every day is not weird. Almost everyone I know watches TV at night.

The thing making it less common these days is that people can watch other things. In the past, you were stuck to what was on air. These days you can pick and choose in a whole different way. I don't watch TV but I watch stuff online.

i watch tv at night.

partly because of sleep issues, and partly because that during the day most of what's on is repeats- it's the nights or the " prime time" when all the new episodes of shows are on.

I usually watch tv with someone. A lot of the time when I am watching tv I am flipping channels and could never just settle on one show. I am usually watching multiple things at once. I do this a lot at night. But there is nothing wrong or weird about watching tv every day. I think most people do.

I can't sleep without the TV as background noise. I set the sleep timer after taking my meds.
Thanks for this!

I don't think it's weird at all, as long as you are comfortable and happy doing so.
Thanks for this!

We pay a fortune for DSTV (which is probably much like cable) per month. But I wouldn't / couldn't do without it. Other than singing and reading (which I don't do all the time), watching TV is my relaxation. When I finish working (work from home), I plonk myself in front of the TV until I must cook. When I have finished cooking and other chores, my Amy is on my lap, I have my favourite blanket, and I'm back in front of the TV. I am following several series. I love my TV and am not ashamed to admit it. And I flip channels too

My tv is almost always on when we are home. Whether we actually r watching it is a different story. My wife needs the constant sound of TV or she can't sleep at night. It's the sound and glow that comforts her. Over the years I have gotten used to it. The sound has always been fine since I grew up by a hwy before the sound barrier was put up to block noise. I can't sleep in total silence. In fact total silence makes me wired cuz I hear every noise.

It isn't weird at all! Many people do it believe it or not. My mom goes to sleep with the TV on. So did I when I had my small tv in my room. It relaxes me and gives me some background noise.
