Thanks for the opportunity Kimmy Dawn. I came to this site as a newbie to computer. and have even learnt technical things. + I came here thinking I could understand things about my son in psych hospital but then realized I was getting help for myself. So much happened to me as a child, and i saw others went thru similar. I never sought real help for that and probably never will (I mean a therapist) but I suddenly dont feel unheard. I told so many people my whole life and never felt heard.... but members here do hear... How has being a part of PC helped you? ((((hugs to everyone))))

I'm so glad you've felt heard. Those "old hurts" are never really that old are they? I hope you always have ears to hear your pain, fears, upsets and concerns. How has being a part of PC helped you?

Thank you!

I don't know if I should be doing this but I'm getting worried that I've said something wrong so I have to ask...is there a reason you didn't answer my reply? How has being a part of PC helped you? From what I can tell, you've answered everyone else's. How has being a part of PC helped you?

((((((( Rio )))))))

Again, I apologize that I missed it. Goodness, it was something to miss How has being a part of PC helped you? What a great testament!

</font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font>
If it wasn't for this site I would never have gone to therapy. I would have continued to think I was the only person who pulled their own hair out. I would have continued to hope that my dad was right and that I'd just "grow out" of my fear of making phone calls. I never would have realised that it's actually ok to still be affected by something that happened over 10 years in your past. I would have continued to keep things bottled up, since I find talking about my problems very difficult to do.

This is what it's all about! To find whatever it takes from somewhere and tell our stories (online being great for that because we don't have the fear of certain judgments) and then form our own decisions about ourselves...helping ourselves, understanding ourselves.

Wow, what a great thing to read! Thank you so much for your nudge because this just made my day!

(((Kimmydawn))) It's ok, don't worry about it. How has being a part of PC helped you? I'm just relieved it wasn't my fault. How has being a part of PC helped you? Thanks for replying!

Glad you agree! Online is great for this sort of thing, because as well as not being judged as much the anonymity of the internet can make you brave enough to share what you wouldn't in real life.

Thanks! How has being a part of PC helped you?

Exactly, rio and thank you for understanding.

Yep, online, I can come here whenever I have a need or want to give and don't have to worry if I've had my shower yet, it I'm bug-eyed from crying, or whatever. We don't have to worry about those physical judgments. We're not mandated to respond as we would be in person in real life. That kind of pressure can really be great...Well for me it can be.

No problem. How has being a part of PC helped you?

Exactly! And nobody has to know things like your gender or age unless you tell them, so you're less likely to be judged by those as well.

(This is starting to get a bit off topic, isn't it. How has being a part of PC helped you?)
