Hi all!!
Well i thought i would update you all on my music. I know i dont hang around these forums much anymore, if at all. but i did promise to keep you updated...so here we go... after my holiday to kenya, i went to a singing lesson. Part of me changed out there, i feel like a different person now. I saw things that made me really look at myself, more than i have done already. It re-focused my desires and passions for my music. the lesson i had after my holiday was the first in 2 months, due to work commitments...so i was missing it alot, and was quite nervous. I had an increased feeling of confidence, that passion really was there!! Well anyway, i began singing "Stand By Me", the song me and my tutor have been working on (the Ben E. King version) and halfway through the song my tutor began smiling a BIG smile. At a break in the song i asked her what was so funny, she couldnt have been happier!! She refused to tell me, she said she would tell me after i have finished the song...so i continued to sing it and at the end she was all excited. I asked her what it was, and she said she finally thinks i am ready to go into a recording studio to record my first song, Stand By Me. She said i am now singing the song perfectly, with no mistakes! So, at the end of July, in approx 2 weeks, i am heading to a multi-million pound studio to record the vocals to the song. And there will be a producer there too...and he has made a name for himself in the business too...in the past he has worked with people such as The Corrs, Ronan Keating, and David Bowie!! This is great news for me...its what i have dreamed of doing for years...and i finally get the chance!! I will post a link to the recording once it is finished, to give you all (or who wants to hear anyway) a chance to hear me in action! AT LONG LAST!! so yeah, thats my update! its the perfect step in the right direction for me and my musical future! i am just so proud of myself that my tutor thinks i am good enough to be recording!! it has been a huge confidence boost, and im ready for this! Simon, this thrills me to no end. I know how much your music means to you and for all of this to come to pass this quickly, is simply marvelous.
To me, you've always shown a committment to everything you do. You've survived things that have been horrid, you came here and made new friends and now the music is happening!! My point is that you wouldn't be where you are today, had you not applied yourself to recovery, friendship and your music.......love you, pat |

Hey!!
Thank you all!! It is a great accomplishment to get this far...i still have a very long, hard road ahead of me buti feel this is most definately the first step on that road. I will certainly post the song on here for you to listen to and comment on. I have developed a cold over the last few days, which i can only hope will be gone before i go into the studio. I have 2 weeks to get rid of it!! I am taking herbal medication for it and am taking vitamins etc in any attempt to speed along recovery. Im unable to sing from it, which is annoying, but as long as it is fully gone by the time i go to the studio, i dont mind. I want to thank the following for your comments: Mentalpollution Evangelista Sabau2 - it is amazing how different i feel since returning home. I had a kind of spiritual awakening out there. Mybestkids2 - Thank you for your kind words, i do feel that little closer to my dream! fuzzybear - rock on fuzzy, rock on! and i'll join ya!! hehe ClydeMED Katheryn Jacq10 bebop Fayerody - Thank you pat, your words were very touching. I have never believed i have any voice worth listening to, and admittedly i still dont. When my tutor said she wants me to start recording it completely shocked me, i keep thinking to myself that a professional singer thinks i sang a song perfectly and she wants me to record it, and i just dont understand it because i dont believe i have a voice! i will pm you shortly pat... Soidhonia and Mssumom, i intend to have fun with this totally..its been hard for me to get to where i am, even though i do have such a long way to go, i am doing htings right. its been hard because i have such a lack of self-belief (still do), and i have very limited support from family...so every step i take makes me more proud and enthusiastic/determined for the future.
