When you stand up for something you believe in, be mindful of how you stand up for it. You may find yourself guilty of the very thing you are fighting against. You also may find that you have lost the thing you hold most dear.

That may have it's true cases, but I find that when I stand up for what I believe & the things that I value in my life, it is usually the best no matter how things turn out.....sometimes the things I loose because of what I stand up for, I didn't really want anyway.......when I truely look at them.

Without my values, I find that I am wishywashy & get pushed around by those who have their strong ideas even if they contradict what I really feel strongly about & I don't like getting pushed around by others......then I am not in control of MY LIFE....& no one but me should be in control of my life.

Just a different point of view....

By the way, I haven't seen you around for quite a while Ryan.....I just got back on internet now that I am here in Kentucky.......see you around,
Debbie

I named her Namaste' I had a pic in gallery, but I think I pulled it back down. She's mainly white with tan spots down her spine... and a dot on EACH cheek (all four Words of wisdom)

I got her when I knew my Figaro wouldn't be around a lot longer... (and I put him down Jan 6th) and I didn't think I'd get another dog very soon... but wisewoman flew a yellow labradoodle to me on Christmas. He likes the bunny TOO mcuh Words of wisdom

I'm not sure what you mean exactly. Do you mean that if you STRONGLY defend your belief that you may shut another person down and close their spirit ?? And thus close off an opportunity to discuss a topic of which both have strong feelings and opinions ??

Peanuts, I just mean that if you fight for something strongly enough, you can be blinded and sometimes you employ tactics contrary to your purpose.

ahh I get what you mean. I totally agree and have been guilty of doing that myself. I think it is difficult to notice when you are in the middle of being passionate about something.

Thanks for explaining further.

hello Ryan, i think that many people argue a point from an "indefenceable" position. it's kind of like being a hypocrite. they rail against others for doing in essence the same stuff that they themselves do.my good ol' ma told me once that to point out the rudeness of other people is the height of rudeness (except with your children) lol, so,i guess that sort of speaks to "what is lost" to name it,your kindness.

I think this is what Christ spoke about... remove the beam from your own eye before you try and help a neighbor with the twig in his?
