This is frustrating. The upstairs of my house is over-heated(where my room is), and the fan and open windows aren't helping enough, so I'm stuck downstairs. Which means I'm stuck glued to the computer, because if I leave this room I'll be too tempted to binge from boredom and lack of self-control. Outside it's too hot to be in the sun, too buggy to be in the shade. *sigh* And I wanted an end to winter, why? lol!
Michigan... such horrible weather. Too much extreme variance. Need to get the window air conditioners put in. Seems really early for Michigan to be this hot.
Did start my tan with a burn earlier, it was super-hot on the roof and I almost made myself sick, but it'll be worth it once my arms are in shape to go sleeveless. Now if I could just get rid of the upper-arm flab.
It's too bad the weather's this warm so soon, but we don't have the money to open the pool. Always been the other way around, figures that the first summer it's hot enough early we can't open it.
And my poor wilting houseplants... lol.

Water those poor babies!! LOL Thank goodness it doesn't get humid too often here in California but it can get hot on the coast, too! I HATE THE HEAT!! If I was you, I'd get me a window air conditioner and place the necessities close to it!

If I could, I'd wipe off some of this tan I've got that I don't want and pass it on to you. Luckily I don't burn easily, though.

Hubby and I are driving from Central Calif. to Las Vegas, NV on Thursday in a convertible! Too hot and humid. Comments on early summer heat. Guess what I did today? I went out and bought me a thin terrycloth jacket and a straw hat and finally picked up my shades from the optometrist's office. If it gets too hot out in the desert, I'm turning on the air conditioner even if the top is down! You betcha!

Anyway, be glad you're on the bottom floor. The top floor always gets so stinkin' HOT!!

Whew, sounds like a hot ride! Having a vacation, or...?
Yeah, got an air conditioner in this room's window, now, it was really hot in here earlier, but nothing like my room upstairs. I'll need to make sure an air conditioner goes in my window tomorrow night, I won't be around the house so much tomorrow during the day, but the Thursday I'll want to be able to hide up there, so I'll need it in.
My poor plant... I've been watering it, keeping the soil moist... I don't get it because I have two of the same plant, and one's ok, looking a little wilted but mostly ok... the other can't stand anymore... it's all floppy... and it's beyond me what went wrong with it. Treated them both the same.

Wish it WAS a vacation but I'm just riding along with hubby while he runs some errands in Vegas. I'll probably play the slots while he's busy.

Maybe your plants are getting too much water? What are they, by the way... Too hot and humid. Comments on early summer heat.

Oh. Well, a road trip is a nice change of pace, anyway.
I'm not totally sure what they are, I forget, but I think they're begonias. They have no blooms right now... I don't think they like me much. Too hot and humid. Comments on early summer heat. Which is sad, because I love plants. They were given out on Mother's Day to all the women 18+ in the church, so I ended up with my mom's as well, because she can't keep plants alive. I can... I just don't know what's up with this one. Following the instructions on the plant poke. Not over-watering, just checking the soil to make sure it's moist, not cracking dry or drowning...

Begonias... ok... I have a large pot with about 6 of them. They haven't bloomed yet, either, and it seems that they are especially slow this year. I keep mine on the front deck where they get bright light but no direct sun. Mine don't seem to need much water, either.

Why don't you try talking to them. If that seems too silly for you, just breath on them. It's something in your breath that they like anyway, not your words. LOL

Good luck! Too hot and humid. Comments on early summer heat.

lol! Oh, like the plant-human live off each other thing we do with air... we give off what they need and they give off what we need... I think? lol, maybe I'm off from the sun this morning and heat all day... and now there's mosquitoes in here going after all my uncovered skin - which is as much as modestly possible considering the heat today... I think it's time to go to bed, lol. Considering my meeting with my pastor in the morning, I think it's an even more excellent idea.

Yep... we breath in oxygen and have a chemical reaction along with the carbohydrates in foods in our cells that creates energy for us to live on, and in the process they are converted to water and CO2... we breath out the CO2 (and I guess some of the water too)

Plants get their energy from sunlight and are able to convert the CO2 in the air to sugar using the energy from the sun. We of course then eat the plants and that's where we get the sugar to burn with the oxygen we breath.

It's the circle of life.

Pretty darn amazing when you think about it.

I've always thought that talking to or breathing on plants helps them because of the extra CO2. But playing classical music is supposed to help plants grow too. Don't see how that could be, except for corn, since that's the only plant that has ears. Too hot and humid. Comments on early summer heat.

Wonder if anyone has ever tried growing potatoes in a room filled with classic artwork and paintings?

(Oh, I'm just TOO silly tonight...)

lol!
Reminds me of The Houseplant Song by Audio Adrenaline... love that song, it's fun. About a guy who reads a book that says all rock music is from the Devil and suggests playing music for plants to prove it... and the guy trys the test, playing the music loudly at midnight, and his neighbor comes over, of course unhappy about the loud music, and they end up talking about more important things.
"Take two houseplants and put em to the test, set them both in front of speakers and let the music do the rest. On the first one you play Mozart or something lovely like that, on the second one you play that Petra, that Megadeath, doesn't really matter what type of rock it is..."
Heh.
