So there has been so much going on,abuse from my sister,my cancer scare and my mum having cancer, and booked in for a hysterectomy next Tuesday.
Not only are they all massive things but they are happening one after another without time to breathe.
I have schizoaffective disorder as well as chronic illnesses like diabetes 2,hypothyroidism and sleep apnea. It is all overwhelming and staying on top of my mental health is a strain. My depressive episodes make life very unstable and too much stress and I go on a downward spiral where my mental health deteriorates. Then I can't face going out and struggle to look after myself at home.It is vital that I can do that cos I have no one to help me.

So it is a worry and I can't not be well physically and mentally. So I am overhauling my lifestyle.Going vegan and avoiding anything with sugar in it,being very obese it seems is a major risk factor for cancer, stroke, heart disease I need to lose 10 stone in weight cos that is how much fat I am packing.Exercise everyday and eat salads, apparently that is the best anti cancer diet too and as I have been told I have abnormal cells that is what I have to adopt.

I don't know if others here struggle with mental and physical health issues but having both is a tremendous struggle and challenge don't you think?

I have lower back pain, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnea, and diabetes type 2 as well. I'm doing the best I can with food and exercise. My mental state wobbles from time to time but I've been relatively stable for quite a while now. I need to lose weight as well. It's a challenge but if I want to live I need to take care of myself.

Sorry to hear that Fharraige,it is difficult isn't it?I am sorry to hear of your health issues. But like you say we want to live so must make the effort as much as we can.It is a challenge we must see what we can achieve and overcome and not be defeated by it all.

I've been exercising for 4 months, focusing mostly on weight lifting.
However, overtime I became increasingly tired when exercising, and I don't feel like exercising as before.
Focusing on weight gain has drifted me away from focusing on aerobatics and planning a diet.
I'm going to change my exercise routine so I can take it more easily and work on focusing on a diet and aerobatics.
It's also important to note that I started exercising from the hell pit of depression.

What I'm trying to say is, you may not be able to eat vegan, no sugar and exercise all at once, but you can always do something to make you a healthier person. I think it's best to start with a diet as you can see from my current experience, with gradual aerobatics overtime. But the diet is the most primary factor to health!

I'm struggling too. If I can get my emotions in check, my physical state will follow.

Let's check in with each other and try to motivate.

Ok Trish we can check in with each other and motivate on this thread.
Things are good today for me,I ate salad yesterday and absolutely no sugar foods. It's helped my mood.Today I had an boiled egg and beetroot for lunch, and chick pea in tomato casserole for dinner.I visited my mum and had my usual cup o tea, there were apple pies in pastry offered but I refused cos of the white flour and sugar. So doing ok today.

Wish you the best! You're dealing with a lot~ AND that's a lot to tackle (physically) all at once. That takes great will power!
Best of luck.
