Whatever you are diagnosed with and suffering from, there will be good days bad days. The bad days come and go much like a passing kidney stone. The good days feel better after having those bad days, and they do feel great. Other days are okay or blah or don't seem like they serve much of a purpose.

In a good day, what do you do to manage your symptoms or help someone who is mentally ill?

I'm bad days, what do you do to help you survive the day?

I'm your I'm in between days, do you do anything to manage your moods, like avoid caffeine or exercise or make art?

------

On my good days, I try to stay in the moment and enjoy it as much as I can. They can be like a thunderstorm in a draught--few and far between. Bad days are the same, realistically, and I know from experience to keep my mind and hands busy with housework, art, my rabbits--something so that I do not hurt myself in a moment of weakness. I prefer to stay away from areas that have easily accessible weapons. On days in between, I try to avoid caffeine, drinking soda, overeating, and I try to eat healthier so I feel better. Exercise is a big plus, but I sometimes don't have the energy to get out and do a quick lap around the block. That is okay. I go easy on myself regardless of mood. I'm kind of a parent to myself. I don't feel like I'm the only one that does this. What helps you?

I do a couple of hours of mindfulness yoga a day. Plus I do some walking meditation. I have a spouse; but otherwise I lead a pretty-much thoroughly solitary lifestyle. Oh... & we have a dog we take for long walks twice a day... weather permitting or not! I also do some home bread baking.

I have had really bad days for long lengths of time and a few ok days. Good days are rare. I've accepted that. On the ok days I try to catch up on some of the things that I've gotten behind on. During the bad days I distract myself by watching tv, reading, doing yoga, listening to music and snuggling with my pets. My daughter is a big comfort to me as well. I hope to have more good days in the future. Best wishes.
