I'm starting to give up honestly. I completely hate life. I'm not even suicidal either, Im kinda just. Existing.
I'm low on energy. I cry at night. I have no friends or close family. I don't have much passion or drive to do anything. Admittingly my outlook changes, I become confident, make unrealistic goals for myself, then get rly angry and frustrated with myself when the slightest thing goes wrong. Tired of the cycle. Tired of getting jealous when people are successful and happy. I just don't know what to do. I'm 17.. I guess you can blame hormones like everyone else but idk. :\ |

I know what that's like. I had big plans at your age. But, as much as the anxiety and OCD contributed to my failures, my never finishing or keeping going despite the failures is why I'm not where I want to be today. Successful people fail. Usually, lots of times. The thing that makes them successful is that they keep on going after failure. They don't give up.

I really have empathy for you. I'm experiencing the same symptoms. We expect too much from ourselves I think. Taking it one day at a time and setting small goals helps me. Some days the goal may be as simple as taking a shower and brushing my teeth.

I'm sorry you are having such a tough time. Are you seeing a doctor or therapist for this problem? It might help. I hope you start feeling better soon. Best wishes.

I haven't seen a therapist or doctor for it.. because I'm scared they'll think its stupid and that nothing is wrong with me.Then I'll be embarrassed. Im scared to talk to my doctor in general because Ive been neglecting to take the medication she gave me for pcos.
Also @eyesclosed thanks, I needed to hear that. I do have trouble getting up to perform simple tasks like that. Maybe small goals are just what I need right now. |

If you change your mind, please start with your doctor and go from there. It sounds like it could be hormones but it could also be a low level depression. You can be happy. Good luck.

Thank you! I might.. It seems to have gotten gradually worse over the years unfortunately. It really affected my grades my senior year.

I have a hard time getting up and getting tasks done as well. My therapist suggested a list of 3 small ( I mean really small) tasks and accomplish those. If I feel motivated I could take on another 3 or stop and know that I'd accomplished something.

It's really hard somedays. Your not alone though as you can see from this forum. I don't know if you have or what type of INS you have. I wouldn't recommend you see your primary care doctor. If you can see a therapist that has training in behavior therapy. They will take the time to rule out any physical problems and sometimes talk therapy alone can help. It's also confidential. It took me a while before I admitted to myself it wasn't going away.
