My younger son called just now, he is "home" in Hawaii!
 Doesn't expect to have to be deployed again until March of 09, and then will probably go to Afghanistan again. (As long as it isn't Iran, I told him  )I had heard rumor he was out of the war zone, but since he didn't contact me, I thought maybe he was injured? But no, he's running in the Honolulu marathon tomorrow!

I am so happy for you Sky. What great news.
I have two sons, both in the military. I have been in that position of not knowing where they are. Of course it you ask you get the stock "if I tell you then I'll have to kill you" response. I am very lucky in that right now they are both out of harms way. Again, such great news!

Yes thanks all! He was covert for 7 years that I didn't hear from him but a rare phone call that might tell me where he had been a year earlier. Once he went to Iraq though, he was no longer covert and communication was pretty good. He had been in Afghanistan prior to that, and Korea, and and and... he's career military. Embry job is part time in additon to military.

Seeing you were a Sgt... reminded me... when he told me tonight that he is running the marathon tomorrow, I asked about his trainer...and he laughed and said he didn't have a trainer, he has a Staff Sargent!  (He's a CWO)

OMG! your son has my utmost respect and appreciation for what he does for our country. bless him. i'm so happy that he's back home safe and sound. and away from war. i know war's not a pretty business, but i thank god for him being part of a military that protects our freedom.
