My Mom just started panic attacks and depression. The family has been very frustated because she won't go to ER.
Her Gp gave her a low dose of med's that are not working. She finally agreed to a pysch appt., not until this coming Monday.
I am scared, sad, tired and lost. Any idea's welcome?

Thanks.

sorry, I have no ideas but just some hugs to help give you strength. Take care and I hope there is a positive outcome soon for you.

Panic attacks are scarey, but not fatal. And they have an end. Seeing a therapist is the best thing for her to do. She's getting the help she needs.

The best thing you can do is take good care of yourself. Make sure you are taking care of your needs. If you can, get out of the house with your friends.

Your mom taking control of her life is what will help her the most. This must be exhausting for you and your family.

I'm sorry that you're feeling scared and that your Mom is having a hard time.

I have Panic Disorder, among other things, and lived a miserable life until I went to a psychiatrist and got help. With meds and counseling, I have a good life. If you can, tell your Mom you're glad she's seeking help.

If you ever need to talk to someone who's been there, just send a pm to me and I'll be sure to answer.

Hugs,

Jan

Thank you everyone who replied. It really helps to talk it out.

We finally got an appt. with dr. and gave her drugs. My mom
thought that this would be a one time visit. I did tell her
all about the procedure about seeing a doctor.

My other brothers and sisters have offered to help me out.
I am just so thankful, that she is finally sleeping and has
stopped shaking.
