How do you go about keeping up with all of the post? I haven't been on in awhile, but I still feel that overwhelming feeling, like there is so much input! I can go into chat and talk alittle, but when it comes to all of the posts, I don't know where to even start - it makes my head spin.

It is a lot lol. I only view a select few of the forums, and then I tackle it one post at a time. Lost

Islander, I know just how you feel. It can be very overwhelming to try to keep up with everything.

What I did in the beginning was I chose one or two forums that meant the most to me and concentrated on them. As I began to feel more comfortable, I ventured into some other forums. After getting to know some of the posters, it became easier to read more and post more.

Don't worry that you can't do it all.....very few of us can. No one expects you to get to all of them either. One way that might help you decide which threads to read is when you go into a forum and see the tag lines, you can hover your mouse over the tag line and get the first few lines of the post without even clicking on it. You might decide from there that that particular thread is not what you are interested in.

Take your time with things....relax...go at your own pace hon. Don't put pressure on yourself to "be everything" Lost

Happy forum hunting!

Hugssss

I know exactly how you feel. I was without internet for several months & when I came back.....I didn't know which end was up or even who was here anymore. It was hard to figure out where to start.....but General seemed like the place to start. From there, I spread out to the forums where I had previously gone.

Sometimes, when I wanted to look up how someone had been doing, there is a way to click on their name.....that takes you to their profile & then you can click on "show all their posts". I found that was a way I could go back & see what had been going on & I felt a bit more connected after doing that.

When I started here several years ago, there was one forum that was where my head was at that time.....since then, I have had other issues I have been dealing with & since PC has grown & spread out to more & more forums....there is always a right place.

I know I was gone for just a few days with some personal issues & when I came back....I couldn't really go back to where I was, & kinda had to start over.....I did feel overwhelmed & LOST for sure......but it just takes time to find where you can settle in & where you feel the most comfortable.....I think that is the best part of PC...there is something for everyone.

Hope you can start feeling a bit less lost soon,
Debbie

It only grows (the problem) as the site grows (a good thing!)

If totally overwhelmed, click on MARK ALL AS READ under your "My Profile" tab. That will clear all those red numbers. Then, you can view the posts from the last 24 hours by clicking on that from the upper right area.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
