Hi, everyone.

I'd like to post this gentle reminder...

When making a post, please take a moment to look at the forums list for the topic that best describes your post's content.

Using the forums appropriately will allow for all threads to be read and responded to not only by the appropriate audience, but posting will probably be seen by more for a longer period...allowing for the best possible view and response.

The General Forum should only be for posts that really don't specifically fit into another forum. When too many of us make threads in just the one forum, it becomes filled quickly...moving threads (sometimes just made hours before) off the page. When this happens, many threads can miss the opportunity for viewing and response, with both the members and the original poster possibly missing out. Posting to the community forums

So, for the best viewing for *all*, please just take a moment to view the forums list and place any post with the corresponding topic in its forum.

The flow of the forums in regards to view and response works much better when threads are placed within the topic specific forum. Posting to the community forums

My hope is for the best possible experience for all and that includes getting support for our threads, as well as offering the same. Posting to the community forums

Thanks for understanding and participating!!!!

KD

I wonder if people might be tempted to post a specific topic in (for example) the general forum rather than a more specific forum because the general forum gets a greater volume of traffic?

I mean... If 100 people frequent whatever forum my post gets forwarded onto and 1,ooo people frequent the general forum then I might well be better off giving my post some airtime in the general forum before it (regrettably) gets diverted.

Just a thought...

The 'general' vs 'social' distinction is particularly tricky...

Oh, yeah, we're all going to misplace threads at times. I did not to long ago actually. It's going to happen for sure...and most to all of the time, it's not intentional. Posting to the community forums

That's why I just posted this gentle reminder to take a look-see just to see if there's somewhere a thread would specifically place.

I'm not saying no thread should never, ever be misplaced, as I said, I recently did it. Posting to the community forums

It's just that when many posts all posts in one forum (when there's another specific place) it bogs down that forum. When that happens, threads get quickly buried, move from the page quickly, etc...kinda defeating the purpose. Posting to the community forums

The General forum is mostly for threads that specifically don't fit into another forum. Posting to the community forums

Thanks, guys.

I really do not understand why posts such as these upset or bother me. I have guesses but I wish I really knew why these types of posts bother me.

Guilty - specifically for this reason. For me, it is just another way for me to get more attention, faster. Posting to the community forums

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
