Hi, i had that problem horribly for the longest time and couldnt figure out what it was from. After about a month of suffering, i finally figured out that it was from the Zoloft i was taking.

I basically lived on Tums and pepcid ac until i asked my Dr to take me off Zoloft and put me on something else.

I also have a friend who experienced the same thing with Prozac, so this may be a little more common than i thought?

When you have heartburn, or even t prevent it, have some celery or some other favorite vegetable.

I haven't had heartburn but have had nausea.

If it is a problem, even eating something very small can really help, like just a cracker or two. Jon's idea of a bit of celery or other vegetable is a good idea. When I was unable to eat, just a bite of toast would help the nausea.

I get that way even when I take tylenol or something. If you feel that you really cannot eat something in the morning then just try taking your meds with a small glass of milk. It will coat your stomach and prevent the heartburn. In my own mind I think that it is a bad idea to take any meds on an empty stomach... I just picture the meds eating away my stomach lining. (Laugh) Probably not true, but hopefully it will help with your heartburn nevertheless.

I have acid reflux and an ulcerated espohagus, so heartburn and nausea area huge problem for me. I found that eating flour tortillas plain helped. Or drinking a little milk. Also, sometimes mixing a tablespoon of baking soda with a glass of water and drinking it (although some find this taste unpleasant, and it will most likely make you burp as it neutralizes the acid!!! I think it's worth it. It really does help a lot).

Avoid: citrus fruit, orange juice, chocolate (pure. some kinds of chocolate-flavored things won't bother you), fried foods, japanese tempura, red meats, and soda pop. These foods are all acidic and/or hard to digest and will make your problem worse. (I know it's a lot to avoid, though, believe me! I have a hard time avoiding all of it myself).

Hope this helps!

I was gonna suggest the baking soda then changed my mind because of the burps, but you bet it helps! Does anyone ever get....... (even if it tastes yukky Does anyone ever get....... The relief is worth the bad taste.) Celexa did that to me when I first started taking it. I've never been one to eat first thing in the morning so washing it down with some milk also helped. Crackers are a good antacid, too. Does anyone ever get.......

That can and has happened to me. I am normally on prescribed medication for my stomach, but I can't afford it right now either so its been happening more lately. Your best bet is to eat *something*, even if just a small amount like a cereal/granola bar, toast, anything. It may not prevent every occurence, but it will help!

as far as milk, due to the acid it takes to digest is not a good idea either, but the lactose in it does coat your stomache; I hear woodworkers used to use it for wood glue--
the reason I suggested celery or another vegetable is because our body produces ALKALINE to digest it.
