....feels guilty when I'm having too bad of a day to support anybody else beyond saying I do understand?

I don't know if it's lack of assertiveness or what but I always feel really bad when that happens. Just wondered if it's just me being a selfish moo when I'm like that or if it's ok to tell friends outright you can't really handle this right now???

I think it's ok to tell friends you can't handle things sometimes. I don't see it as being selfish but rather as being self protective of your boundaries and your energy levels.

I would give a supportive reply but I'm having too bad of a day today. However, I did want to say that I do understand and I know I will feel guilty about such a short reply later. Am I the only person who.... Am I the only person who....

Totally kidding. I don't think it's being selfish at all. We can only do what we can do at any given moment and I think we all do the best we can. Am I the only person who.... Am I the only person who.... Am I the only person who....

I have some days when I can't even get out of bed.....when I'm doing good to feed my doggies.....let alone try to feel like I can support anyone else who is having an even worse day than I am having.

I think those days are sometimes necessary as it gives out bodies & minds a chance to rest & to heal without anymore input than they already have that has put them on overload....it's just a matter of taking care of ourselves & that is the most important thing in the first place......everyone needs time for just themselves without feeling guilty about it.

It's like when we are sick in bed with the flu & our body is just too worn out to function....we have mental flu days too when we just can't get the mind into anything except healing rest....nothing to feel guilty about.....just a fact of life.....a process of nature......something that is necessary so that we can function comletely in the future without burning ourselves completely out.

Take care & don't feel guilty....guilt is exhausting in itself & doesn't allow you the time you need to recover the way you need to.

Hugz,
Debbie

like i have now..lol........guilt is realy exhausting..i read somewhere that

Guilt is ju8st keeping you where you are not. it makes you be what you are not. Since you feel giulty you know it`s NOT YOU but instead of changin it you feel guilty it keeps you away

"I`m done being there for others
They have their pain and so do I
No need to feel it all over
I try to hold on and you bring me down"

Kalamity:

Don't ever feel guilty about having a bad day or even those days when you feel fine, but you simply can't find an answer to help somebody. Many times "I understand" says more than any advice.

We all have those moments when we feel like we should be doing more....but that usually comes from within yourself. Others love you just as you are...bad day or not. You need loving too.
