The last week has been extremely difficult for me and I have had to miss a week from work. I work in a neurology department with some really good doctors. However, there is only one who checked in with me to see how I was doing. He was very casual about it and told me to make sure I take care of myself. It made me feel good to know somebody cares, but also that he is not scared to say something. It is amazing how a few simple, kind words can make such a big difference in how accepted I feel. Like maybe I am not a total freak.

Hey depressme. Sorry you had to miss a week of work, but glad you are taking care of yourself. That was very nice and caring of one of those docs to call and check on you. And theres no way, in any way you are a freak. Ya got that.

love ya,
chalmette

Depressme,

I'm very sorry that things aren't going great and that you had to take a week off work. But I am glad that at least one Dr. called to check up on you. You are most definitely not a freak.

Hang in there.

Sometimes taking that week from work is needed. I'm sorry you weren't doing well.....and I'm sure glad one doc called to check in on you. I'll bet he let everyone else know what was going on. They probably didn't want to inundate you with too many calls.

Freak??? No way......not in the least!! I do hope you are feeling better this week. Take good care of YOU!

Hi All, I am feeling better. I am back at work full time and the depression has let up some.

My art is going well. It is one thing that never leaves me--no matter what, I can always escape by painting. I will try to get some new images put in the gallery.

I had a great appointment with my pdoc yesterday. He pointed out that a lot of the things I question are things that everybody questions--even himself. Thoughts like do I matter, what is my purpose, have I made a difference...The difference is that I am looking at these questions through a filter of depression. As the depression lifts, I will see things much differently. Until then, I need to hang onto hope--hope that things will continue to get better.
