I have gotten that message before too but I am not sure why. I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone.

If I were to try to get into your account; they'd want me to go away because obviously it either isn't my account or I'm a klutz and can't remember my own info ok this is weird It's a security feature; obviously no one was able to break into your account. Wait a few minutes and get in and send myspace an e-mail telling them someone was obviously trying to break into your account, is there anything you can do to help? I'd also make sure you have a super-deluxe password (totally nonsensical (not a "real" word or word portion) with lots of symbols and numbers and upper as well as lower case letters).

That is what was happening but they failed. The 15 minute lockdown is so they'll go away and know myspace knows they were trying to mess with that account and is not amused :-)

Why does anyone try to do anything??? Because of the thrill of doing something unethical...to see what they could get away with.....kids having fun (not my idea of fun) ... spammers and hijackers looking for ways of hijacking your account for their own purposes?? Lots of reasons....could even be an accident and someone was using the wrong sign in name too....who knows??

Oh, naive one :-) If they had access to the controls they could write/post whatever they wanted and it would look like it came from you. They could try to alienate your friends or get you in trouble, etc.

((((((((sabby))))))))

i never thought of any of those reasons, i'm incredibly naive when it comes to the internet. it could well just be someone logging in with the wrong sign in name...i've done that before on different sites with my own account coz i have a few aliases and forget which one i've used for where. i've even done it here at pc. ok this is weird

No need to worry; they aren't likely to get in, especially if you have a superdeluxe password like I suggested ok this is weird

Too, people go around at random like Sabby said, just to see if they can, for the heck of it. Probably was someone like that who gave up and wandered on.

I forget what nick you use, having a somewhat unique nick can help with stray people having a similar nick.

Yup, someone was trying to get into your account but failed. I've had that happen once or twice myself. All you need to do is make sure you have a tricky password.

Actually something similar happened to me on Neopets last night...someone was trying to get me to give me their password and I reported it.

ok this is weird
