I have been listening to Enya tonight. I love this type of music when I am feeling down. It takes me away......

And I agree, don't matter how old we are. Or should I say what age group we are in. I have always been a firm believer that we are as old as we make it. Someone who is 80 can feel like they are 20 and vise versa. I have seen someone who is 70 and act like a 10 year old. I found him to be "refreshing" and young at heart. And he had a terminal illness. He was one of my clients with home care. He died a young, happy man.

I Love Enya. I guess it is good when feeling down as it makes me feel better. No music on in this house right now. TV Movie is on but I couldn't tell you the name of it.

Enya, I love it!!!
very soothing, butI actually listen to it when I need to relax. If I am depressed I cannot hear Enya,it brings me further down.

Isn't it amazing how the same music can have a different effectin people

I share that with you gloria.

I do need to be cautious and "pay attention" to my mood before listening to Enya. As soothing as her music is, it can bring me down as well.

When I am extemely depressed, I have to put on up beat, kind of rock and roll: or I just set myself for feeling more depressed.

.....I like that old time rock and roll, that kind of music just soothes the soul.....

I have the Monkees Greatest Hits and Celtic tunes. I know kind of a mishmash. I like everything. I am really into soft mellow I guess you'd call it New Age right now but can't listen to Enya as she reminds me of being in the hospital last year. When we'd have recreational therapy and we'd do art the therapist would play Enya. I cried so hard once she had to turn it off and then I got to go back to the ward before everyone else as I was having a meltdown so I can't listen to Enya right now too many memories.

If You Love Me
Van Morrison
Recorded with B.B. King

If you love me
You will give your heart
Why should we be apart
If you love me

If you love me
You will know the truth
I wasn't born to lose
And I love you

Affinity and communication
That makes reality
Understanding is the first thing
It means so much to me

If I love you
I will find the key
If it's meant to be
'Cause I love you

Affinity and communication
That makes reality
Understanding is the first thing
It means so much to me

If I love you
I will find the key
If it's meant to be
'Cause I love you

Boy I'm late chiming in on this thread, but...

I just made a bunch of new musical finds from the Garden State movie soundtrack. My favorites are the Shins and Frou Frou. I bought the Frou Frou CD called Details-- loving it, but probably going to overplay it pretty quickly. The freaky thing is the vocalist is female, but when I first heard it I thought it was a guy-- sounded a lot like the Smashing Pumpkins lead singer to me. Got a good Shins CD too, can't remember the title but it has a sky-blue cover. Also tried one by Iron & Wine, but it's putting me to sleep. Definitely not car music.

I'm so glad that you did chime in. In fact, I read about Ethel last night and (big sign) wished that you would visit with her and help her get where she's going. What is playing on your stereo RIGHT now>>>> I'm going to listen to some of the music you mentioned. I've picked up so many new "favourites" since this thread started......thanks, p

From R. Kelly's song:

If I can see it, then I can do it
If I just believe it, there's nothing to it

[1] - I believe I can fly
I believe I can touch the sky
I think about it every night and day
Spread my wings and fly away
I believe I can soar
I see me running through that open door
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly

Believe it, Hun! You can do it! What is playing on your stereo RIGHT now>>>>

Fitting for my 600th post:

Higher Ground --Stevie Wonder from Innervisions ©1973 Motown</font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font>
People keep on learnin'
Soldiers keep on warrin'
World keep on turnin'
Cause it won't be too long

Powers keep on lyin'
While your people keep on dyin'
World keep on turnin'
Cause it won't be too long

I'm so darn glad he let me try it again
Cause my last time on earth I lived a whole world of sin
I'm so glad that I know more than I knew then
Gonna keep on tryin'
Till I reach the highest ground

Teachers keep on teachin'
Preachers keep on preachin'
World keep on turnin'
Cause it won't be too long
Oh no

Lovers keep on lovin'
Believers keep on believin'
Sleepers just stop sleepin'
Cause it won't be too long
Oh no

I'm so glad that he let me try it again
Cause my last time on earth I lived a whole world of sin
I'm so glad that I know more than I knew then
Gonna keep on tryin'
Till I reach my highest ground...Whew!
Till I reach my highest ground
No one's gonna bring me down
Oh no
Till I reach my highest ground
Don't you let nobody bring you down (they'll sho 'nuff try)
God is gonna show you higher ground
He's the only friend you have around

I always have the radio on when I'm surfing the net. Unfortunately, our classic rock station usually plays the same songs over and over and over again. Sometimes, they will throw in something different. They're playing "Long Distance Runaround" by Yes. That's one of those songs I can't get enough of.
