I lived there for 18 months -- albeit the worst 18 months of my life -- and I still don't understand Texans. How can you vote for a guy just because he's from your state?

I'm with everybody else who's swearing. I have a 16-year-old son and I live 7 hours from Canada. As soon as Dubya reinstitutes the draft, we're moving!

<<and I still don't understand Texans>>

Hey, I resemble that comment!! And I didn't vote for Bush. Believe me, there are plenty of PO'd people around here (TX) too.

How could this have happened? I'm flabberghasted that so many Americans apparently want to be at war, want $2/gallon gas prices.

Speaking of war.....yesterday I watched a really good documentary that just came out on video. It's called "Control Room" -- about media and this war. It offers views of the US Army Information office, Al Jazeera, NBC, CNN, etc. It was REALLY enlightening. I honestly believe that people on both sides of the political arena would find it interesting. Just seeing how the different media outlets cover the war, and how the reporters from Al Jazeera feel about US coverage - was eye opening.

The film was a selection for Sundance 2004.

One Thumb Up! - emmy

I agree wholeheartedly (((Sept))).....

Everything will be okay, everyone will see. And just think next time it'll be doubly more exciting because we'll have two new candidates. Now that I've said something nice, I believe I will go back and sit in my corner and stew since I got a VERY hateful and criticizing phone call this morning....

Yehaaaaaaaaawwwwww'ing here too! I wish there was a place we could swear!!!

Take Care all,
Kimberly.

I didn't vote for him just because he's from my State. That would really be dumb. I believe that the man has many redeeming qualities. Granted, he's not perfect. Are any of us?

Maybe we should all take a deep breath and read this. :-)

I could argue the other side, but I guess we'll all just have to make the best of it!

I don't plan to argue the point. What is, is. Campaigning is over. The polls are closed. The people have spoken. All is well with me. I wish there was a place we could swear!!!

If you'll take a Canuck perspective, I saw the race as being Bush, or not Bush. Kerry just didn't come together as a leader, IMHO, until maybe the last two weeks. You can only say "I woulda done it different" once, or it starts to get old real fast. If y'all didn't have that two term limit, I betcha Clinton coulda wiped his *****. No matter what you think OF Bush, you know WHAT he thinks. I can't say the same thing for Kerry.

Sept:

That would be the infamous mother and her husband. She called with fairly good news and then I could hear them in the background criticizing my choice of candidates and ranting actually yelling at me. I don't know who these people are but I told them, "You better shut up before you piss me off!" They shut up. And I hung up. I wish there was a place we could swear!!!

Still makes me mad though!

I feel sad that you americans only had 'those' people to choose from. When I voted last year, there were 6 names on the ballot. I'd hate to HAVE to pick the best of the worst. It doesn't sound democratic when you have so few choices.

I hope the world can survive Bush for another term. I don't know if it can though and it's scary.

Lar - Yes, we saw what Bush thought during the debates. Did you watch them??

Personally, I think Bush won because we are at war. We have never ousted a president when we are at war.

The question is, WHY are we at war? Um....weapons of mass destruction? Uh.....nope. But it sure does help with re-election, ehh?

I wasn't supporting Bush, em. Just making an observation. I think the Dems could have picked a better leader, is all.

Speaking of never, in presidential elections, a president has never won who didn't win in Ohio. Why don't y'all just save a lot of effort and just let them vote for ya?

I didn't see it that way at all....for simplistic starters, Kerry can walk and chew gum at the same time. He is no one's puppet and I guarantee you that we wouldn't be be in war number two if he had been elected. Mark my words, Bush will invade Iran as soon as he can. This is getting too political, but I had to reply to you. I worked my *ss off on this election and we will roar back stronger than ever in four years. We've just begun.

I'm sorry, I did'nt mean to ruffle any feathers. It probably looks and feels a whole lot different being part of it, than it does observing from afar.
