Yes, it's a lot different when it might be your son-in-law who gets shipped off to a war for oil money. And when it's your taxes that support the administration. Apology accepted.

well also, he needed to say HOW he would fix things. To say one of the problems of Bush is that he didn't close the Iraqi borders! But Kerry was in the senate... why didn't he close the Mexican borders... how will that be done?

Aw... it finally came down to the MORAL issues and the Christians voted with knowledge and their hearts. Those were the 3 big issues that the 2 were diametrically opposed... famliy, abortion and stem cell... It those hadn't been on there, the voter turn out would have been less... and possibly a different outcome.

Angel:

We actually had more choices than two. It's just those are the two predominant parties in this country. On my paper ballot, I think there were 5 but I didn't get past the first one. Honey, with politics in this country, IT is all about picking the lesser of two evils. But I'm paranoid of the government, so you don't have to take my word for it.I'm not sure that it's any different anywhere else.

Not saying I don't love Bush, because I do...just making a simple point.

Take Care all,
Kimberly.

I also agree with Sky.....

It did shift from the war being the election breaker, to moral issues that appealed to the heartland of America. It was no longer about WMD and more about definition of marriage and abortion and money for stem cell research.

Faye: I understand what you're talking about with the war and all. My brother-in-law, my BABY BROTHER, 2 of my cousins and my nephew are all in the military as well as several friends, and it is a nasty business. It is scary and we're all uncertain, but it wasn't our decision to make. They signed up for it. It's not a draft situation, with all due respect.

This board has gotten quite political, huh?

This is why I NEVER talk politics. Actually, there are two things I rarely discuss with anyone outside my immediate family: Politics and Religion. My Grandma always told me that'll ruffle feathers faster than anything! So I generally, as a rule, abstain from it. I figure I'll change no one's mind, and they'll not change mine, so it's pointless.

I just hope that the future holds some more of the good that we've had the past 4 years, especially in my little world I wish there was a place we could swear!!!

Take Care all,
(((((GROUP HUGS)))))

Wow. A lot of opinions. I've been called un-patriotic (among other things) because I don't exorcise my right to vote. But that's my choice. I've said this before, but, IMHO, if I vote for the lesser of two evils, then I do myself a disservice. And no, I won't be one of those who don't vote, and then sit back and complain about the way this country is run. I have very strong ideas about what it will take to get this country back on track, but that's religion and politics, and I don't do that on websites very often. I will say that we have some very great women in government who would make a wonderful President. I hope I see that in my lifetime.

To all those who have been hurt by all of this, I hope it passes quickly, and that the next four years gets better somehow. Personally, I'm just glad it's over.

Love,
Greg

I think that the worst thing that could happen would be the Armageddon? Anything is possible and the road that we are at right now (no allies, war, unemployment, people losing their lives) who knows what could happen.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr

Hun, I don't remember my Revelations really well, but I think the Beast (666) takes over before Armageddon happens. The Beast comes proclaiming peace, but in fact, wars follow him everywhere.

Larry, sometimes it takes an "outsider" to see things in a more objective light. That's what I thought your post showed. I wish there was a place we could swear!!!

I totally disagree with you about outsiders. I feel that you've got to live it to talk it. And I'm living it. I'm ready for this thread to end....it started as a thread for the people who felt the loss hardest. Perhaps a thread for the Bush people would be appropriate. I'm not angry, just disappointed that rubbing it in seems to be going on. Pat

In reality, I wish Doc John had never opened up this can of worms.

I'm ready for all this to end, too. Sorry I stepped on your toes. It's just that opinions are like *** holes; eveybody has one. Pardon the language but some things are better expressed plainly.

I wish you'd made that clear, Hun. I may joke about politics on a rare occasion, but I don't joke about my beliefs. Don't worry, though. I'm not upset. I wish there was a place we could swear!!!

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Jillers}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} Sweety, you can swear here. I just did! LOL

Surely you've seen posts where people post such things as "f***k," "s*it" and stuff like that? I've never seen a post get deleted by a mod for that! I wish there was a place we could swear!!! Sorry it took me so long to remember that. I wish there was a place we could swear!!!

Love ya, Hun. Hope your day is going better than yesterday. I wish there was a place we could swear!!!

I was referring to the armagedon as being a political joke. I usually do not associate it with the bible just because I am not very religious. No offense was meant to be passed. I wish there was a place we could swear!!!

I COMPLETLY agree with Larry. I wanted to like Kerry better and I did vote for him, but I didn't have a lot of faith in what he would bring us. But, he was better than the alternative. The democrats lost a lot of votes, IMO, by not having a stronger candidate.

Angel, we CAN have unlimited people on our ballot. It's just that so few people want to "throw away their vote" that it's not worth the campaign expense.

The rest of the world must think that the Americans got what they deserve -- if we're not smart enough to elect ourselves out of this leadership, then too bad for us. I wish there was a place we could swear!!!
