i started this post several times.. deleting and re-typing.. i'm not sure how to word it, and i don't know if this is where to post it or not.
a family member may have checked into a psych facility last night or early this morning.. that, or they may have ended their life. None of the psych hospitals will tell me if they have been admitted or not. They say they aren't allowed.

Okay. Is this an immediate family member (brother, sister, mother, father) or some other relation? Sometimes they won't release information except to the immediate family, or to a person's emergency contact/next of kin.
Does anyone else in your family know anything else? How many psych hospitals are there that they may have checked into?

have the police go to the family members home address to do what they call a welfare check. that should be something to go on there. police depts do it all the time

the hospital called... they are safe at least. i didn't get to speak with them and they will be moved to a different hospital later today.
we had someone go and there wasn't anyone there, and although i am immediate family, the hospital said they can't give out info.. not even to say if someone is even there. Apparently they can't give out info without some sort of release document. i had the same issue a few years ago. i don't know if that is just psych wards or not.

they were transferred without anyone getting to speak with them.. from the family i mean. They kept telling me to call the patient phone (is there only one phone?!) and it was busy... when i got home from production they had been transferred. i got given a number to call but then they gave me another number who gave me a third number who told me that they couldn't tell me if the person is admitted there or not...
but at least they are alive.

Good grief. I am so sorry you're having such a hard time getting information.
