There's something I want to talk about, but I don't really want to post it under my name. Is there any way I can post it anonymously?
Cheers, Molly

You can PM Clyde and he can relay it as an anonymous posting down in Clyde's corner.

Good idea from wanttoheal, beyond that... the board does not allow anonymous posting because of the chance of spam or people saying mean things to others.

Christina86 I've just seen an anonymous post? And it did seem like spam?
But what I want to post is genuine, It's just a little bit more personal.

The only posts you will see with an anonymous name are those from folks that had membership and then deleted such membership. There is no other way to post anonymously here....I'm sorry. Wantoheal's way is the only way.
You can pm Clyde with what you want posted and he will be happy to help you with it in Clyde's Corner I'm sure. Wishing you well! ![]() sabby |

At the moment Who's Online shows 26 anonymous members and some who are "Invisible". That doesn't mean they can post, but it strikes me as a bit weird.

Anonymous members aren't really members... most are people who don't have accounts or who aren't signed in. If you don't have an account, or are not signed in, you can't post but you can still view the main forum.
Being "invisible" is a setting you can toggle in your profile, so you can be signed in (as a member) and you can post, but nobody can see who is online.

To answer the original question, it's actually a technical and administrative question -- "Why are there so many anonymous visitors on the site?" One of the causes of the "anonymous" visitor is that the software Google uses to show you the most relevant ads for a particular post will actually appear as one of these "anonymous" visitors. But it's not a human, just a piece of software using a computer algorithm to try and show you a relevant ad. So many of those "anonymous" users are just this. This question has come up so often, I wanted to put it to rest. The "Who's Online" functionality is not one something should spend a lot of time "reading into" as it's not 100% accurate and it's not put there for people to just watch... There is a glitch that makes this show as something else in PMs, as noted. We make no public record of banned or suspended members because I believe it violates their privacy rights. Nobody is ever banned or suspended without plenty of advanced warnings and attempts to try and bring that members' behavior inline with the guidelines, however, so such members should notify friends of such a possibility long before it happens.
