i know this isn't the same thing. but you have a beautiful dog... maybe you could just hug her close tonight and enjoy her company?

Hi Neri --

It's okay to feel lonely. Forgive yourself, and be kind to yourself.

And remember -- we can feel lonely in a relationship or even in a crowd of people.

Sometimes getting involved with something you love or enjoy takes my mind off it. I love to make childish bookmarks out of glitter, or to paint advertising refrigerator magnets with acrylic paint and glitter, or larger crafts projects.

When I had dogs, taking my dog for a walk always made me feel better. Dogs are so amazing. Every time they go for a walk, they are so happy and excited. Doesn't matter if it's the same walk they took that morning -- and every morning and evening for the past five years. Every smell is new -- every moment is new. We can learn a lot from our pets.
