I have been on all the meds except clozaril and stimulants. Currently i am only taking medication to manage migraines and anxiety. My prescriber and I discussed ECT briefly, a sentence. I had it previous for about of deep depression. It helped.
Has anyone had it for mood instability? Psychosis? Helpful? Not? At this point I'm not worried about going through memory loss again. My life is unmanageable. |

ECT should only be used to save lives as the side effects are permanent, it's not as barbaric these days but still a treatment to use as a last resort.

I'll reiterate and expand. I've had it before, it helped for depression and while I did experience memory loss during the 18 shocks I regained memory. The side effects I exeperienced from psych meds along with the arrogance and ignorance of my former prescriber keeping me on these meds and treating my body as a test site which is what gave me permanent myoclonic jerks is what's barbaric.

ECT has been a life saver for me. I have had minor memory loss but it all comes back. If it has worked for you before I would give it a try again. Good luck.
