One of our cats sleeps with my parents...one night my mom was reading in bed and I was with her. Cleo suddenly jumped up on the bed and very loudly went "MRAWWW!" It freaked me out, I startled the cat so she fell off the bed. She's quite heavy, so she makes a loud "thump" when she lands on the floor

I have two keeshonds and sometimes they sleep with me and other times they sleep on the floor, but they do lay on all of the couches and so we (me and my parents with I am home) have to fight to sit down or sit on the floor.

When I had my Rottie girls, heck yes! They slept with me, until Chips (120 lbs) became too crippled to get up on bed anymore. After which, she did have her special bed right beside me. Baby (100 lbs), still made it on bed and cuddled right next to me...until she'd overheat and end up at the foot of bed.
I'd do it all over again....and more than likely will once I adopt my new brood. When I had my rattie, Teddy, he slept with me. And there for a while, my Amazon Parrot, Hagar, slept on my chest during her mourning period of the loss of her mate, Shelly. I LOVE my pets. To me, they are not animals.....they are my family, and are treated as such....MUCH loves n spoils. Shangrala ![]()

Of course! My lab Tommy slept with me until he got arthritic. Then now that we have our little silkey terrier, Mimi, she always sleep at the foot between mine and my husband's feet. She spoiled like that. And I don't mind, sh's a good foot warmer

My bichon sleeps with my parents. They tried to crate him when we first got him but he cried the entire night and my mom gave in to him. Even if they are away, he'll sleep on the bed. The German Shepard isn't "suppose" to sleep with anyone but she waits until my parents are dead asleep and she'll get on their bed to sleep.

Its funny... but our dogs have never been allowed to sleep in our bed (per hubby's orders) - and yet he doesn't seem to mind when the two kitten we acquired a few weeks back want to cuddle with us in bed... go figure.

I have 2 cats and a dog. My dog (Chihuahua mix) always sleeps in my bed while the cats do on occasion. When all three of em are in my bed--They leave almost no room for me! If for some reason my dog isn't in my bed, I will get up and find her.

I'm currently without pets, but hope to get a cat.
The funniest thing occurred once while I was sleeping downstairs. I have the tendency to snack in bed, which is, admittedly, not the best habit. One morning/afternoon, I was sleeping and I felt something jump onto my shoulder. I turn and look and there is a red squirrel there, who has come in through the chimney. I startle. It startles and runs off. Another funny tidbit to the story, when my mom comes home my step-dad tells her that I'd had someone in bed with me that day.

It is said an Eastern monarch once charged his wise men to invent him a sentence, to be ever in view, and which should be true and appropriate in all times and situations. They presented him the words: "And this, too, shall pass away." How much it expresses! How chastening in the hour of pride! How consoling in the depths of affliction! ---"Address before the Wisconsin State Agricultural Society". Abraham Lincoln Online. Milwaukee, Wisconsin. September 30, 1859. |

Growing up the cats (usually @ least three in the house @ the same time) would choose which of the four beds they would sleep on. We had one that chose my bed, but she snored VERY loud and her purring sputtered, I couldn't sleep. Closing the door worked until she found out that the other beds weren't to her liking, then her scratch @ the door would keep me up. I learned about earplugs then.
As an adult I adopted a kitten (My roommates each had a cat- hence two kitten's born in my bed!). As my bed was his birthing bed, I couldn't kick him out! for the next 16 years he would purr me to sleep curled around my head (I had to get a king size pillow). When i got married, my husband knew that Buddy would still expect to be in bed with us. Buddy adjusted, if my husband was in bed he was my foot warmer, but the moment i was alone, the pillows were all his! When I had my son he would start out in our bed, then when I brought the baby in to nurse he would just use the bassinet- every two hours they would swap places. I also have some adorable photos of my son sound asleep in his swing on the floor and Buddy napping right beside in the carseat. When my son was sleeping in his own room, I didn't need a monitor- Buddy would wake to the first whimper, before it could become a cry and bounce to wake me. Most middle of the night nurse times, my son never even had to really cry- therefore he nursed and went back to sleep very quickly! When I get a new cat I will let it chose where to sleep- a cat bed will be available in a warm spot, but bedroom doors are not latched, so let it chose who to sleep with. |
