my mum got herself a lovebird. she never spends time with her, gets me to do all the changing, cleaning and I have a canary and do my best to look after him. she got annoyed at me because i didnt put salad in her cage. she's a fussy eater so i thought she didnt want it. i get to change all the food, water... why get a bird if you're not going to be responsible for her? she just bought her because she's "cute". i get so angry that she had a go at me because i didnt change the sheets and ive been at work and i havent had time then changes the topic to her being at work longer and i just sit there while she does everything. I dont i wash the dishes, put the clothes down from the line etc

Of course it is an annoying for you.Its her pet and she should be taking care of it.She can ask for your help once in a while.I had a different situation with my pet. I had a puppy and enjoyed training her.My mom intentionally tried to turn it into spoiled brat.I tried to potty train her.My mom encouraged it to soil my bed or sofa.My dog eventually developed Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde personality. She would be a brat in my absence and most adorable and well behaved in my presence.

It's a really annoying situation. It sounds to me as if your mother's kind of blackmailing you into caring for a pet that's her responsibility. Do you suspect that, if you didn't care for it, she wouldn't either? If so, that would worry me!
