I lost some weight in the last part of 2012/first part of 2013. But I have been binge eating and have gained it all back within about a month.
I was binge eating honey mustard pretzels, then angel food cakes, then miniature candy bars. I would watch Netflix and eat an entire cake or bag of candy. My mom gave son and me a bunch of Milky Way candy bars today. She put them in a bag and I asked my son to hide them from me but I ate one before we left mom's house. I have been eating fruit but not any vegis at all. I need to stop buying the foods I binge eat. If it isn't here I can't eat it. But I still want it. If I knew where the candy bars were I would eat another one so at least that will stop me for now. My kitchen is too cluttered and dirty to actually cook right now but I am working on clearing the clutter so I can prepare meals. Pretty much everything I eat now is ready to eat, fast food, or microwave.

Hey Yoda. I am a yoyo dieter/eater so I have been there done that on many occassions. It is very painful for me when it happens......... yet again. It is so hard once it spirals out.
![]() I am fortunate in a way because I live alone. I have no children etc. While this may not seem fortunate, in one instance it is. I can completely regulate what comes into the house. If I dont have it, I cant eat it. But if I had someone who lived here with me, I would be sunk in many instances. I could not regulate what they bring into the house. So I do feel for you, indeed. Although you are fortunate to have a son ![]() |

Yes I am fortunate to have a son. And more fortunate that we both survived his teen years - that was tough for both of us. So much for putting him in charge of the candy bars. I have not binge eaten today so I asked him for one of the candy bars and he said no. I asked, did you eat them all? He said, yes, I wasn't intending to but I did. So much for that plan.

I've had much better luck since I stopped buying snack foods. You're right--if it's not in the house, you can't eat it.

You are so funny.
![]() My son asked this evening how diet affects heart disease. He is 24 y/o, very sedentary and is overweight. I ordered two books on ebay by Dr Dean Ornish for $4 each with free shipping. I am going to try to teach him some healthy cooking habits before he moves out.

What you are doing for your son is awesome. You can show him healthy ways. Before he leaves the nest. I am glad he has such a great mom. Taking a real constructive loving approach. Rather than the more shaming destructive approach that too many of us are sadly all too familiar with. ![]() ![]() |

Haha, culinary sociopath. I love it. (Not that the implication is funny, just the term...)
