It's seems for some reason once i turn into my worse self from a BPD episode or traumatic event my binge eating begins and can't be stopped. I clean out cupboards, fridge, kids snacks and foods and seem to always be heading to store to get ice cream and pie or some type of sweet to relieve myself in a way. I'm stuck in a vicious cycle even with better moods and some exercise. I'm finding it very hard to distract myself or find healthy hobbies. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry I don't really know a lot about this. I presume what this is all about is anxiety / stress related to your BPD episodes or traumatic events. Binge eating has become a way of handling, or perhaps avoiding dealing with, a swell of anxiety / stress that results from your experience of a BPD episode or traumatic event.

I would guess that is pretty typical. Many if not most of us nowadays react to high levels of anxiety / stress by eating. So, assuming this is what's going on with you, seeking some professional mental health assistance with learning other ways of coping with the effects of your BPD episodes & traumatic events is probably what is needed here.

I know you wrote you're finding it hard to distract yourself or find healthy hobbies. This is probably just a sign that what you are experiencing is simply not something you're going to be able to overcome by yourself. Professional help is going to be needed. I wsh you well...

I don't really have anything very useful to say. That being said, my therapist just said the same thing to me: "break the cycle". Interesting.

She said this is about the time I start relapsing again and she's right and now I'm making every effort to prevent it <--- That face, totally forced ;3

I binge eat, probably what's called "emotional eating." I can totally relate, but don't have much advice to give because I haven't overcome it myself yet. Just wanted to give a note of support...

I'm afraid I don't have any answers either. Sorry! I just wanted you to know you are not alone!
