My daughter just go out of the hospital for depression. She was set up with a therapist and put on meds. Due to her being 19 years of age, I am told she is an adult and told nothing. The doctors don't return my telephone calls. When I tried to talk with her therapist, I was again told she was an adult that she has to make her own decissions. Well this adult is living at home & still going to school. How am I to help her, if noo ne will talk to me and tell me how. I am left to pick up the pieces, pay the bills and watch her go back to the same bad patterns. I just wanted to let the doctors know what is going on. What is a mother to do? This is affecting everyone in the house!

I think what you did by coming to PC is a good thing to have done! IMO (in my opinion) you do have a right to expect certain adherence to rules since she is living in your home. A family discussion around the diningroom table could be in order...but I would hope that you get personal help from a therapist (of your own) so it turns out as well as possible.

Nothing in the law prohibits you from telling the doctors "what is going on." You can always write them with that information. You can also solicit your daughter's agreement...with the T, that the T can share with you items that will aid in her healing. Good wishes!

Thanks for your suggestions. I have tried the round table talk, but not the letter to the T. I think I will try that.
