we are in need of legal advise concerning the taking away of a child, by a man that left them for another woman and now wants complete control of their son. my friend doesn't know where to turn and it is just eating her alive, and taking her back months of a good recovery and now she is back at the beginning. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. she has been diagnosed as bipolar and she must be helped.brooklyn2541

what about legal aid? if he took the child already what about the police?

Contact legal aid in Texas... surely some free info over the phone can you direction? Was the woman awarded custody? Or, was there no custody court order yet? No matter what the situation (illegal alien, unwed parents, criminal backgrounds...) reach out to the authorities. The system often awards custody to the mother, especially if she's been there all along. TC! Good wishes on helping her!
