It took taking Ativan (which my Pdoc hates) twice throughout the day, but I got up, bathed (including the toothies) and went to the office and trained a new employee. I don't know where this energy and drive came from but it was so wonderful to function like a (well almost) normal person...whatever that is.

I definitely wouldn't have made it without the Ativan and I can't figure out why my Pdoc hates it when I take it. I have anxiety attacks so bad that I usually end up in bed after I've tried to venture out into the world without it.

But it was a very good day. It was probably sometime last October when I had my last good day. This was great...I almost don't want to go to sleep...I guess if I don't take my sleep meds I won't have to...but there will be hell to pay come tomorrow morning.

What a GOOD day! Had a very good day!

Schatze,

I am so glad to hear you had a good day today. It is surprising how a med can make so much difference that you can start living again....wonderful when a mirical like that happens. I bet it feel good to be a "normal human" again?

Don't worry about the benzos....I was taking them for 10 yrs before going off of them cold turkey & never had a problem....only thing was that they quit working so I quit taking them hoping that if I ever needed them in the future they would start working again.

I do hope that by having a good day, that you don't overdo while feeling so good. I make that mistake weekly & then pay for it for the next few days. Be good to yourself & get a good sleep so you have some energy for the next day & the day after that.....etc.

take care,
debbie

This is a good thing! Some doctors, sheesh! I have that reaction from many neuro's --aren't they supposed to be MORE smart? lol I mean, my demerol is for chronic pain...that's what narcotics are for...

Be sure to write it down how much you took, and how you felt and how long it lasted... keep track as you need to take the ativan... you might have to use the record to justify it's helping you (to your doc) ... and you can use it for yourself as a reference as we usually are our own guide on these things.

Glad you had a good day! Don't overdo though. (like eskie also said)

Hi Eskie & Sky,

I've been away for a while but I wanted to thank you both for being so supportive. I took both of your suggestions to heart and I thank you both for them...you give very good advice. I've been feeling much better lately and have had several good days in a row. I haven't been bed ridden in 4 days and I'm going outside and getting involved in activities with my family. I've even been running small errands by myslef.

I hope this keeps up.
