Of course not!

Of course I don't feel like I can do "this." I was injured in a thunderstorm, then lost everything to Hurricane Andrew.. and now have gone through Hurricane Wilma.. alone (with dog) in my own home.. such terror I cannot find it all in my mind. The skies have been clear till today...and it clouded up and I realized I am SO traumatized um RE-traumatized.. the PT's office just got power today and they were running the air conditioning fan on high... and it was all I could do to keep from crying and shaking as it sounded or made me recall? the wind and rain of the hurricane.

I went into chat ... and I guess with all the new members in this last week and half since I've been gone.. .plus I know the regular members are still struggling with your dx's... I know the rest of the world went on without us down here... but my world has stopped... for a while at least though it feels like it will be forever.

I posted shortly after the storm to tell everyone that you would probably be out of commission for awhile because the storm was a direct hit for you.

My boss lives in Ft Lauderdale and had a tree crash through the roof. It split her house in two and she was trapped in there and couldn't get out. She still has no power.

Two of my co-workers have been out of work since it hit because of the power outages. (Miami)

Life does go on, but that doesn't mean we didn't stop,think of you, and send positive vibes your way!

you've been thought about, prayed for, talked about. so many of us were so concerned for you and are so glad you're back. i've been mostly gone for a couple of days, and still trying to catch up.

i'm so glad you've made it through. i can only imagine the level of PTSD you're dealing with! we're here for you.

thank you Petunia. Yeah... there was a few stories like that, ppl trapped in their homes crushed by trees.. I can NOT begin to think of that! wow. I do recall with Andrew... "under" the mattress we'd angled off the bed and on top of a flight case. and how just after getting under that, the roof/ceiling fell in .... and how I must have passed out ? and when I woke, I was wet .. and the carpet was water saturated and I didn't know if I was going to drown, being trapped, or just blown away... I couldn't feel anything below the waist then... until the mattress was lifted off me... ugh, no, this house stuck ... good... but then, it wasn't a "5" like Andrew.

That they play with the real "facts" of strengths of these storms... because they don't want a panic evacuation... I doubt any of us will know when another 4 or 5 does come... they won't tell us.

you sound almost giddy to have made it through as well as you did. i know that you're dealing with so much more than alot of us can imagine...

i'm so glad you're safe and maintaining...the rest can be replaced and dealt with in time, but there's only one sky and i'm glad we have it right here in our little world.

It seems like the New Orleans storm got all the "play". It's like they so overloaded us with that storm that people are all out of juice.

I hear that, ben, odd thing is.. Katrina ALSO wreaked havoc in South Florida too... prior to going to LA and MS and we didn't get any 'play' from that either! We are accursed here. At least, I am.

I am so stressed out... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Thank you again guys, for reading and replying to my rants. I am going to TRY and take pics of my neighborhood, community etc and post them sometime this weekend??? no guarantees. My gardeners came today... really straighten the place up a bit... but didn't contract to remove the trunks and roots from the broken trees. That's ok.. they are probably too busy and I'm too stressed. I puttered in the back yard ... shouldn't have but it used to be so calming... now I only did 30 minutes and you know... walked deliberately, picked things up mindfully... correct posture not overdoing.. and I quit long before I really wanted to.. moved a few small dying plants (oh, the garderners took my plumbago... I guess it didn't make it.) then I took a hot bath (for muscles) and am on ice packs (for nerve endings) and... being here trying to chill. ..... not up to this.
