I waited for many years not knowing about it. I have been through many things. anger, fear , hurt people and many things I can not undo. I did not know how to deal with things and I made things worse. some of the things I did I can never forgive myself for espicially when I was on drugs. I was not able to feell any pain when I was high or drunk. Now at 58 I have everything seeming to come up now I am having a hard time dealing with the things I have done I have had sex abuse mother and daughter they lived next door to me when I was 11, at 16, uncle abused me. growing up as a child I would wake up to my parents yelling and scraming at each other. Had something happened at military hospital that had affected me. My father tried to kill me three times. I sexualy abused someone. I had an ager problem almost went to jail for 20 years for it. A lot of this I will never be able to forgive myself. I jsut started theripy in Nov. anyone have any idea how long it may take to help put all this fear to an end

Hi and welcome to PC! new here new here
I have that same question myself sometimes, and I'm learning that you can't put a time limit on healing. I've been in therapy for a year now, and it's an ongoing struggle of 'relearning' proper behaviour patterns, and relating to other people in a healthy manner. It helps to have a place like this where you can come and meet others that are going through similar experiences, and make a friend or two. Friendship is a good support system. It may take a lot of time to get past your struggles, but don't give up, okay? You're not alone.

Again, welcome to PC ((ster)) Unfortunately, that isn't a good way to view your path in therapy... why ask questions for which there are no answers? You can gain quick relief of some things, imo. It will take bigger issues longer...as sometimes they, and your reaction to them, have permeated your lifestyle, attitudes, reactions etc. If you are limited by insurance caps, then it can become quite frustrating, imo.

Take one thing at a time, as you begin to pull the threads ... the ball will unravel.. sometimes pulling a few threads with it. TC... PC is here for you. new here

Welcome too PC! I too ask myself the same question of "how much longer" What I have found is therapy is what you put into it. The more work you do the more you acheive but it takes time. It is best to go slow as too not get to stressful. I hope you enjoy the forum and know we are all here for you.
