pet.....when all this came to light......you were the first person i thought of as i know how faithfully you had been a friend to sleeps......this has got to have hit you like a ton of bricks but pet....most of us here are real and love you and will never hurt you.....

I am heartbroken for wi_fighter and her kids AND the dog.

I feel bad that wi feels so bad.

I am stunned. It's like when you get the news that someone has died. That's how I feel. Like one minute your sad and the next you're in shock.

It brings up past issues of being taken advantage of after trusting someone.

It brings up all the fear of "guilt by association" like when my brothers would get arrested and go to jail, I hated telling people my last name because they assumed I was just like them.

Parents didn't want me to play with their kids because my brothers did something bad.

That's the kind of stuff it's bringing up.

I know it's all my own stuff. I do know that.

And I forgot to thank you all. Your support really means a lot to me.

I've told a few people that Sleeps was one of those posters that I just ignored (not literally with the ignore button, but just didn't pay her any mind). I couldn't even begin to guess who were her close friends. Twisted_Soul was the only one that I noticed, because they were going back and forth in the Thread Killer thread so often.

I don't think anyone could have predicted this. Sleeps was a huge presence on the site for a year. Why would anyone suspect she'd get so upset with a member and do something like this?

I just read the guilt by association feelings you are having. I am so very sorry you feel this way. You have no shame for being a good friend, or for being a good sister. This is not your shame to bare and never was. It is a poopy part of life and it stinks, but it is not you. You are full of love and hope. You are the beautiful flower reminding us to stop and look and pay attention to what is here, now. I wish you peace.

Petunia, I also wanted to tell you that kids weren't allowed to play with me either because I was dirty and my family was mean, both true but so painful for a 5 year old to hear. Guilt by association, yup, and I know how that felt, still feel occasionally. Please take care and keep writing. I am sending you my day. It is quite warm here, 73 and muggy. The grass has grown 4 inches since Friday when my daughter mowed. When you look out into the side field you see all of these little animals half covered by grass. There's eyore, roo, bears, a duck that quacks, and a lot more, the dog toys that have to be gathered each time we mow. The sun is bright and the trees are budding and the daffodils are in their second cycle. SOOOOO much green. Absorb the sun.

I'm so sorry you are hurting.

I very much relate to "guilty by association". Being the youngest I hid in my room most of the time and tried so very hard not to bring attention to myself as my older siblings had bad reputations and I was often regarded by neighbors and teachers as "one of those bad ________(last name here) children". It hurt to be watched so sternly and restricted from playing with some children.

Guilty by association is not fair in most circumstances(especially as a child and for you-- in this situation)-- we are all individuals and you are a very special one! You didn't do anything wrong.

I think it's good you are putting a "voice" to your feelings--- I've been told it's the way to healing.

Petunia, I never associated you with the other member in that way.. I made excuses for you, for one, that you were having fun on the threads and needed it. That's one of the poorer results of trying to keep things from public eye, the site as a whole... people like you also get hurt. TC (now where's that watering can??)
