I found my daughter after she committed suicide
last April and I seem to be getting worse and worse every day. Not better.

It might be a good idea to see a therapist. I know if it were me I would need therapy to overcome such a tragic discovery. Please feel free to post here anytime, we can give you support.

You have my deepest sympathy.

I'm so sorry for your loss, and I can understand the feeling of not getting better.

It would be a good idea to see a therapist and a psychiatrist, and if they do diagnose you with ptsd then they can find ways to help you get better. It's a long, slow road to recovery with ptsd, and I'm still working my way down that path, but it can get better.

Like said above, please post your worries anytime, and if you need to talk I'm here.

You must feel you are being swept out to sea.

There is treatment for any symptom you might have. You have a right to be safe, to sleep, to earn a living, to keep relationships. You dont need a disorder to be treated.

You will know goodness again, it comes back to live beside sorrow. You are welcome to say more if you want. About anything at all..

Please accept my very sincere gentle thoughts ~ your experience sounds very traumatic. I would imagine that both group and individual therapies could be helpful for you. I hope that you are in therapy now, working through all of your emotions linked to the experience. I would not expect the difficult emotions to be gone, or even better after merely one year.

While one year can feel like a century, especially when we're suffering, I would imagine a lot of difficult emotions to be linked to the tough experience.

Very gentle hugs sent your way...

I agree you need to seek professional help as soon as possible.

I live near Oklahoma City and I am amazed at the stories of recovery I've heard from people who were there when the Federal Building blew up. They were offered free sessions with therapists that included EMDR and everyone I've talked to that tried it said it helped enormously.

I've done it frequently for childhood trauma and it has been a godsend, however, not all therapies work for all people so explore your options.

I am so sorry for the loss of your daughter. I hope you find peace.
