get on my bike and go take a ride. Wham! It's freakin everywhere I look. I'm having one of those I can't handle it moments. Yesterday evening they picked up half the crap across the street, or should I say in the street. And left alot for me to clean up. I shovled for two hours this morning to get it out the street and only did half. It was too heavy. And it stank so damn bad. Me and my neighbors try our best to keep our street looking the best we can. But we can't keep up with the mess. I think the reason I always am suffering a cough and sinus problems is all the %#@&#! still sitting there to this day and I'm sitting smack dab in the middle of the oil spill. I try so freaking hard to be happy and just can't get there. There's so much to be unhappy about. Help me find happy again. Can someone please give me suggestions to get through the day. And I already tried those rose colored glasses. And I ain't moving. I made a commitment and I'm hard headed enough to follow through if I don't die first. (no pun intended)

Have you sought professional help? This seems too big for you, or anyone, to handle alone.
Each one of us here knows how hard it is to pick up the phone and place that call...but it really can help immensely. I'm so sorry you are going through this. ![]() |

I went to my regular doctor, she put me on medicine and gave me a number to call a therapist. I never called the therapist because I don't think it will help

Ok then. I hear you and understand. I'm sure someone else will have advice you can use. Hang in there.

I apologize, I didn't mean to be rude. I honestly don't know if it will help. I've just got issues with it.

You could always just call and make an appointment and see if it would help. You would probably have a fair idea at the first meeting. ?? Then you would know more about the whole process - even if you decided after the first meeting that it is not what you want.

Hello Chalmette.
I am very sorry you are overwhelmed at this time. I can sincerely say that when I saw a therapist I thrived because I had a professional helping me to weigh the options that I had in life, and the best possible solution to the problems that I was having at the time. There are also case managers that can help as well if you can not handle things or get the answers or help you are seeking. Just having someone to help guide you in making the right decisions is nice when you know that some one is there to help you and you do not have to feel the weight on your shoulders to have to manage everything yourself. I would suggest calling the therapist and then make the decision of whether or not to see the therapist after you talk to someone. Calling a therapist may be one of the most important steps you take in your life, I know it was for me, and I do well at this time because I chose to go to therapy, I hope one day you feel the same. I hope the best for you in the future. Soidhonia

Thank ya'll for your guidance. I wanted to let you know that i did finally call and my insurance does not cover it. But Red Cross volunteers came to my door one day last week and spoke with me about a few things going on. They said they would look into finding a counsler or volunteer in this area. I haven't heard back from them yet, not sure how long it takes. As far as I know there isnt any down here, but you never know. I go back to my regular doctor on tuesday and will tell the truth of what s going on that I didnt say on the 1st visit. I will let you all know what happens. Thank you
