...I just followed a link to a website about both SI and PTSD. The SI part I could read fine, but as soon as I started reading about the PTSD I found it harder to breathe and I felt sick...it still hasn't gone away yet. Well, that was weird... It was a similar reaction to how I felt the first time I went into the dining room at school (I'd been avoiding it due to social anxiety) - does this mean I'm not doing as well as I thought I was? Am I trying to push myself too much? Well, that was weird...

Hello Rio,

Sounds like you read something about PTSD that triggered you.

PTSD doesn't just go away. It's about learning what the triggers are and learning why you react that way and what you can do about it.

That doesn't mean avoiding the triggers but gradually learning how to deal with it.

Hope you have a T to discuss this with.

Take care.

Thanks for replying, pegasus. You could well be right...and if that's the case, I've been getting triggered a lot more than I realised. Well, that was weird... I get that feeling pretty much whenever I read about PTSD - even this board does it to me sometimes. It doesn't have to be about trauma similar to mine, either. Well, that was weird... I do have a T, but he's away at the moment - I won't be seeing him again until the 12th.
