I'm in a rut & having a terrible time in therapy; my therapist (whom I respect) tells me I am fighting the process. I start this "fighting", this need to keep myself safe without even knowing it. I can't control the need to fight and keep myself safe, it's hampering my progress. I also can't seem to trust anyone. HELP!!

Its hard. My experience is 1. It takes time and when your ready your ready. 2. I had to make myself trust my therapists and for the most part they have kept that trust safe. 3. No one can make u be ready and or trust it comes from u. Goodluck.

It is hard, isn't it? Can you respect your need to keep yourself safe? Of course you want to fight the process, you feel the need to protect yourself. Figuring out that it' safe enough to let go, figuring out that you are already safe, that's both the process and the end point of PTSD therapy. Struggling with this frustration hurts, but it's part of the process. You're doing okay.

(((hugs))) what you are going through IS part of the process to healing... just keep doing your best, and let your T keep telling you... your brain will come around eventually.... ((((hugs)))
