Today was one of those really, really bad days. It was actually okay until I checked my mail box. Any way to make a long story shorter, I got a bill from my college lender. I had sent them infromation 4 weeks ago, but they wanted it again, the lady said she never got it. I held my temper I could feel my body shaking. Most the time I feel numb, like I am stuck in neutral. I don't know if it was a relief to feel again, but now I am back to my normal, unfeeling numb self. Does anyone else feel "numb", or like they are going through life in neutral. This has been since July. I am really getting tired of not liking anything, or not disliking anything. Just wondering if anyone else felt his way, don't really know where to post this either.

Well, first I'll say i am new here. This is the first time i have been to this site, and i have been reading everyone's posts. I was just diagnosed with PTSD today... And was told to do research on this before my next session. When i came across your post i couldnt help but think omg lol I too just go through the motions (feel numb) I have just gone "through the motions" for years and years. Never seeming to find that "happy" place so to speak. When i leave this feeling it is more often then not a feeling of anxiety or anger.
I guess i just wanted to tell you that you arn't alone in what your feeling. I wish I had a better response for you other than i can understand your frustration with this feeling of "non"feeling. It stinks! |

Feeling numb and not in touch with your feelings is very common with people who need to do emotional work.

You are definatley NOT alone - yes I have felt numb or disconnected - like going through life on autopilot - are you seeing a Therapist? they can help you through this - anger often seems to be the first thing to break through - take care
