I cant stand the memories of everything thats happened to me, the sexual and physical abuse. I cant even get away from it in my sleep! Every night I see him in my dreams, lurking towards me as he touches wherever he wants. I cant take this anymore. I know alot about PTSD from the therapists I have seen. But I really dont know how to handle it, except for taking my meds that completely numb me out. I dont know what to do.

Are you feeling better today, Heartachehannah?
Has your current therapist suggested any grounding techniques? They can be of help in feeling like you've regained some control...

Jmo, but perhaps you are ready to get into some of the harder/different issues. Anger was a huge issue for me.
Anger at my abuser, but also anger at myself. There were still some parts of me that thought I was to blame...anger also at those who did nothing to stop it.

Please let us know how you are doing.

Hi Heartachehannah430,

Have you talked to your T about this? when I get nightmares I turn on the light and try to remind myself that that was then this is now -that I survived it then so I can survive it now - I will pace and say calm and relaxed over and over - I will get up and watch tv for a while if none of that works - I hope you find somthing that works for you - when you are not sleeping everything is a little harer to put up with.

take care
