I stuck them on, on Wed, knowing I was going to visit my twin grandsons and didn't want to be smoking around them or my daughter and her husband, both ex-smokers. By last night, I was in a full-blown anxiety attack, ripped the patch off and went to the store for cigs. I hated for my daughter to see me so weak!
I tried this several months ago as well, going for a couple of weeks, and experienced the same. Initially, they take the desire for smoking away, but then I find myself experiencing anxiety. Has anyone else here tried the patches? What was your experience? Seeker |

Gee seeker, that's a tough spot! I suppose that the patch is too strong for you. Are you doing this at least with the pharmacist's help? There are many different types of patches, and some you can even cut in half to lower the dose. I can see why the anxiety would increase, once the nicotine really kicked in! I admire your efforts, and am sure that once you find the right way to do this, you will. TC

Thanks, Sky...You're a sweetie to respond!
One of my teacher friends, another smoker, female, my age, told me that a nurse friend of hers said smoking is as or more addictive than heroin. I'm struggling with it mightily. I am thinking "cold turkey" may be the best solution. Just gotta get up my determination. I think a vigorous exercise regimen, walking daily and maybe even a gym would help! Seeker |
