I think seroquel can do this, particularly the sleep eating part. Let you pdoc know what is going on.

It may very well be the Seroquel. It made me very sleepy and angry when I was awake.

It can happen with this med and Ambien as well. I hope you find something that works but doesn't cause the sleep eating.

Hah, yes I believe Seroquel will do this to you. I have been on it for depression, and ironically, sleep problems.

It was prescribed to take 1 tablet before bedtime. Took it, and after about 10 minutes of laying bed, I would then wake up the next morning, ready to start the day.

But it made me feel very crappy during the day, like I wasn't "there". It made me tired, grumpy, and frustrated at the silliest things. I quit taking it, and I didn't care what my doctor said, it wasn't helping, it was only making my depression feel deeper and lost.

I have been on seroquel for 9 years now for sleep and managing my bipolar disorder. I can tell you that it is the strangest drug, but has been very effective for me. I have experimented with all different dosages, i've even tried seroquel xr. I went to see a new doctor last week and he told me it works differently depending on the dosage. What did that mean for me? I was down to 100mg a night just to make me groggy for bed. However, It wasn't working all that well and I started to have episodes of depression and acute mania. He told me I am not at therapudic level and to increse the dosage to 400mg/day. Bam!! I can sleep and my mood issues are gone. Medication affects everyone differently but I guess my point is the dosage makes a big difference in how the drug works. Good luck :-)

I started taking Seroquel XR 50 mg at night a week ago. It does help me sleep well and so far the only "side effect" is that I feel numb. I can't really process the thoughts I'm having unless i'm working on a specific task. I can't even explain how I feel other than "blank". I go back to the psychiatrist next week and hopefully this will subside. I am also on an upward titrating dose of Lamictal, so not really sure which one is making me feel this way. At least I'm not suicidal and hating myself.
Thanks for this!

I take 600mg of Seroquel for bipolar disorder & anxiety. I have had friends tell me I do things in my sleep sometimes (smoking cigarettes, etc.) That really scared me. Some nights it makes me so tired I am nauseous & other nights I cant even tell I took it.

was on seroquel for several years it may be the seroquel as I did have some strange side effects too but if it is concerning you I suggest asking a psychiatrist about it..they might be able to give you a more professional opnion or give you some hints as to ways to combat that..

Been on Seroquel for two weeks now, I'm irritable, don't want to be around anyone, just exasperated. I also take Lamictal titrating up to 100 mg daily. I'm not sure which medicine is doing what as I take them at bedtime. I know there is no "quick fix" to feeling better. I've felt like wanting to die for so long now until I'm just mentally and emotionally wore out.

Kunderwood. thanks for the reply. I too have felt irritable and exhausted. Ive had suicidal thoughts as well, and have felt emotionally drained.

We upped my seroquel to 200mgs......im afraid of becoming a zombie....but will try it - anything to feel better

thanks,
c

yesterday at work the nurse informed me that for a couple of days I have been "excited", not in a good way. I thanked her for noticing these symptoms and letting me know. Insight is not too good right now. My mind is going 90 miles an hour, my mouth speaks faster than my brain is functioning. I interrupt people mid sentence and have no clue what they have said to me, as if I'm not paying attention. I hate this, it is so embarrassing. Not sure if it's from needing a med increase or something added. I can't focus on a task and complete it, i get bored or just lose focus. Ugh I can't wait to be rid of all this.
