lamictal side effects?

For the past three days i have had a none stop headache even with alot of ibprufens i still have one. I also had the craps that burned really bad. I mean i was in tears burning. I have had intestinal cramps and mild nausea. I also sweat alot. I dont know if this is the normal side effects or if its worse and my head makes it seem that way. Any advice?

i just had an increase and lamictal and i'm sure that my illnesses have been made worse by that med. i sweat in an a/c room. and my tummy cramps all the time. i was totally blaming the wellbutrin, but got suspicious yesterday when i didn't take the wellbutrin.

I, on the other hand, have been on Lamictal for 1.5 yrs or so now and have never had a single side effect.

Have you considered that you might have the flu, BD?

I have been on lamictal for a long time. I never had any side effects at all. Are you ramping up very slowly? Otherwise there are side effects you can get including a severe rash. If you get any type of rash call your doc immediately. I have not heard of intenstinal problems with it but as with any med they all work differently in different people. Call your doc if you don't get any better. I hope your side effects go away quickly.

I had a terrible headache an stiff neck when I started lamictal......and I really have never had a med stopping side effect.........unfortunately, this one I had to stop it just made me so sick. I was living on tylenol.

Gee, I don't think it is the meds., but I am not a doc., but I have been on Lamictal almost 3yrs now (200mgs per day)
And it agrees with me. I do only take that, so it may account for me not having any side effects, if there has been I haven't really notice any, or remember what it was like when I was titrated to this dosage. I did feel agitated and wound up when I had tried 225mg per day, so 200mg seemed to be the target.
I suggest you contact the prescribing physician and tell him or her what is happening to you, you may need a dosage adjustment and or need to switch to a different med.
It is also important to find out if this is being caused by the Lamictal or some physical problem, I would contact them ASAP if I were you.

I went to the doctor today. She took me off of lamictal due to the big rash i had and all the other side effects. So tomorrow i should find out what new meds they are putting me on. This is the first reaction i have ever got from medication..

You didn't mention the rash, it is very good you were able to talk with your doc. I am wishing you lots of luck with whatever next step your doc has you take.
