I have not had any problem with side effects from lamictal. I also take wellbutrin.

I get really irritable at certain doses of Lamictal. It smoothes out in time when I'm at my optimal dose, 150 mg in my case. It takes a few weeks, 2 or 3 or so, but it got better.

Good luck,

gg

I've been on Lamictal for several weeks now and my doctor just increased it from 100mg to 125mg. Since then I've been angry alot. I'll be fine one minute and the next I just have this anger, this rage, building up in me. I think it's the lamictal. I haven't had a chance to discuss this with my doc though. I see him Friday. I'm also on Welbutrin and have been on it for quite a while. It seems to be working well.

Lamictal caused me to have a HUGE dysphoric manic episode. Apparently, this happens to other people as well, because there's an article on Dr. Goldberg's (Depression Central?) site about Topamax (I think) working well for people who become manic on Lamictal. It seems you mostly hear about people loving this med, but it can have it's dark side, too. I think it screwed with my hormones, because I also did not have a period the whole 3 months I was on it, but then started 3 days after discontinuing Lamictal. The rage left at about the same time.

Hi. I take 100 mg Lamictal. I recently lowered it to 75 mg. I noticed that I had less brain fog and more stamina for exercise. However, my depression became worse and I went back up to 100 mg. I guess for me it's going to have to be a tradeoff. Way back, when I was titrating up, I noticed anxiety after dose increases, but that wore off. It might be worth trying it a little longer to see if some of your side effects diminish.

Good luck!

I think that this drug is a GODSEND!!! for the most part. I have been on this now for the past several months. About 7, actually. I am just now needing an adjustment as I have been having alot of mania episodes lately and I do not want more antidepressants. I feel like it's not enough Lamictal. I'm only taking 25mg. qd. That's the lowest dose you can start with.
I thought Welbutrin was horrible. Made me COMBATIVE. I thought I was going to kill someone taking that stuff. I got right off that crap!!!!
